Three Years Ago...

"Your dropped this."

Yeonjun turned around and saw a cute brunette boy holding his wallet.

"I should've dropped it earlier." Beomgyu visibly blushed at him. He watched the guy put his wallet back in his pocket. "What's your name cutie?"

"Beomgyu." He tucked a piece of hair behind his ear.

"I'm Yeonjun." The bell rang. "I'll walk you to class."

"Y-You don't have to-"

"Then lunch after school."

"I-I...well-"

"Great, meet me by the school entrance after school we'll go any place you choose." He turned and walked away while Beomgyu stood there completely dumbfounded.

...

"I feel like I'm just talking about myself." Beomgyu murmured pushing his glasses up on the bridge of his nose.

"I like hearing you talk." Yeonjun said with his chin rested in his hand and his eyes glued to Beomgyu.

He blushed again and took a bite of his pizza.

"Are you single?" He asked suddenly.

"Uhhh...yes?"

"Good, I'm taking you on a date this Saturday. How does dinner and a movie sound?"

Beomgyu choked and Yeonjun handed him his drink urging him to drink it. He did and Beomgyu regained himself.

"B-But you just met me."

"And I'm already all in. So Saturday?"

Beomgyu stared at him before he started to laugh a little. "Okay Yeonjun."

"Yes!" He exclaimed making Beomgyu laugh some more.

...

"I had a lot of fun tonight Yeonjun." Beomgyu said as they walked together.

"I'm glad princess." Beomgyu blushed at the nickname. "You know you'll be mine one day."

Beomgyu gave him a confused look. "I don't understand."

"I mean one day I'm gonna marry you."

"Yeonjun!" He squealed and gently hit him.

"I'm serious." He laughed as he walked him to his doorstep. "Mark my words princess." He took his left hand and kissed it.

The Present...

Beomgyu woke up that morning of their anniversary. Yeonjun wasn't next to him and he assumed he was making breakfast or something.

He jumped up and brushed his teeth and left his room to find no one, quickly realizing that the house was empty.

He frowned a little and called his phone but no answer.

"Maybe he's setting up a surprise for you." Beomgyu's friend Hueningkai said over the phone.

"Maybe."

"When you two were in high school he would surprise you ever chance he got. Don't get discouraged too quickly."

Beomgyu was sitting on his bed staring at his ring.

"Yeah...yeah you're right. Yeonjun will come home with balloons and flowers and take me to our favorite restaurant, or maybe he'll do something completely different."

"See? That's the spirit, call me and tell me how everything goes."

"I will."

They said their goodbyes and Beomgyu got cleaned up, he put on the nicest outfit in his closet, he did his makeup and put on his glasses knowing how much Yeonjun loves when he wears them.

Then he waited.

And he waited.

And he waited some more.

Until the sun hid behind the horizon and the moon smiled with all the stars. He sat in the dark staring into nothing while twisting his ring on his finger.

He heard the front door open and close. He heard his husband's footsteps to the kitchen table tossing his wallet and house key on the table. The footsteps grew closer and closer to their bedroom door until it slowly opened and he flicked the lights on.

Yeonjun jumped seeing Beomgyu sitting on their bed.

"Why are you in the dark?" He asked taking off his jacket.

"Why not?" He answered not looking at him.

He felt Yeonjun's eyes on him. "Where are you going?" He asked.

"I was going to do dinner and maybe a movie or something you know? Hopefully spend some time with my husband on our anniversary but shit doesn't always go the way you want it right Yeonjun?" He stood up and left the room as Yeonjun sighed putting his forehead against the wall.

"Shit." He went after him. "Beomgyu!" He had went into their bathroom. "I'm so sorry I...I didn't mean to-"

"You forgot Yeonjun!" He yelled. The door swung open and Beomgyu stood there with tears running down his cheek. "Say it! Own up and tell me you forgot!"

Yeonjun bit his lip and slowly nodded. "I forgot." His voice quiet and filled with shame.

"Great!" Beomgyu smiled at him, a smile filled with pain and betrayal. "I'm glad our marriage means so so much to you."

"Beomgyu-"

He slammed the bathroom door in his face and started taking the makeup off as the tears continued. He took a shower and came out seeing Soobin sitting on their bed, he immediately jumped up seeing him.

"Can we talk?"

"I'm staying at Hueningkai's tonight." He said grabbing an overnight bag.

"Beomgyu please-"

"Yeonjun don't!" He wiped his tears away. "...just don't." He quickly left through the front door slamming it behind him.

Yeonjun stood there staring at the door he just ran out of, the deafening silence ringing through the room.
