Beomgyu and Yeonjun kept going to therapy together. Their therapist was proud of how far they were coming along together and would always tell them that they never needed her and that they "just needed convincing that their worst fears were just fears and not their reality".After three weeks of regularly attending therapy, they moved back in together and started to work on their marriage more.
"Beomgyu?"
"Yes Yeonjun?"
They were cleaning the kitchen up together after they had dinner. Not much had been said.
"Can you come back to bed?" His voice full of uncertainty and fear of rejection. "...I miss you."
Beomgyu couldn't help but smile. "Okay."
"Okay?"
"Okay." He looked at him and Yeonjun bit back a large grin as he kept cleaning up.
After they finished cleaning up they got ready for bed since they had dinner a little later than usual after a busy day. Beomgyu took a shower and came out drying his hair and sitting on the bed. Yeonjun was stiff and not looking at him.
"You okay?" Beomgyu asked.
"Hm? Oh...yeah yeah of course I'm alright...it's just been a while."
Beomgyu crawled into bed facing him. "It has. Is time going to stop you?"
Yeonjun took a deep breath. "No." He climbed into bed with him, facing his husband in bed. Their faces only inches apart as they stared at each other. "...can I kiss you? Am I moving too fast?"
Beomgyu giggled a little and moved closer pecking his lips. "Good night Yeon–mmph." Yeonjun pressed their lips back together, holding his head in place. He felt the way his husband seemed to melt in his arms as he held him. Leaning his head up, kissing him more, softly, clearly longing for this feeling as much as the other.
They pulled away from each other, their eyes closed and their foreheads pressed against each other.
"I love you." Yeonjun whispered.
"I love you too Yeonjun."
They went to bed together, cuddled up and extremely happy.
...
"I'm going to work!" Beomgyu called as he put his shoes on.
"Wait!"
Yeonjun jogged over with his lunch. "I made it for you."
Beomgyu smiled at him. "Thank you."
Yeonjun leaned down and kissed his cheek. "See you later."
"Mhm, see you later." Beomgyu turned to leave before turning back around and kissing his lips this time before quickly turning back and leaving.
Yeonjun blushed and couldn't get rid of the stupid smile on his face. He went to work a few moments after and during his lunch break he called Soobin.
"Hey Bin!"
"Yeonjun hey, How's the married life?"
"It's going really good so far. These past few weeks we've been talking and cuddling and we kissed last night and this morning."
"That's great, looks like he trusts you again."
"...yeah?"
"What's wrong?"
Yeonjun let out a deep sigh. "He's still not wearing his ring and I'm too scared to ask why? It's sitting on the same place where he left it before. We eat dinner at that table, I know he sees me staring at it."
Soobin laughed a little. "Well...maybe say something?"
"What if I ruin everything?"
"Hyung, you both have come so far. I'm sure there is a reason he hasn't put it on yet."
"What could that be?"
Soobin started thinking. "I don't know...look you can't always leave everything up to him. Maybe he wants you to take initiative, oh, I have an idea. What time do you get home from work?"
Beomgyu was working at his computer when he heard a knock on his office door. He looked up and smiled, waving Taehyun in.
He walked in with a cup of coffee for him.
"You're a life saver, I'm exhausted staring at this screen." Beomgyu said as Taehyun handed him the coffee.
"Take a break. The new promotion doesn't mean sell your soul to the company." He teased.
"I know." He sipped his coffee and hummed. "Thank you."
"You're welcome." He sat down with him at his desk.
"It's inappropriate for you to hang out in here." He said as he went back to typing up emails.
"We are having a meeting."
"No we're not."
"The others don't know that." Beomgyu laughed. "How are you and Yeonjun?"
"We're a lot better."
Taehyun rested his chin in his palm. "Okay and the truth?" Beomgyu looked at him and then sighed. "It's about your ring isn't it? I noticed you still aren't wearing it."
Beomgyu rubbed his hand. "...we are doing great and we are so happy. I'm happy, but taking that ring off was a lot for me. I thought we were over...I have this weird feeling that it shouldn't be up to me to put it back on."
"You want him to propose to you again or something?" He teased.
Beomgyu gave a weak smile. "I gave it back to him for when he was ready, I've always been ready. He's my husband I never wanted to leave and I know I should tell him this but I'm worried that bringing everything back up about me taking it off might upset him? I don't know...I'm scared I guess."
"You have nothing to be afraid of. Yeonjun loves you and like you said, you've both come a long way. You're happy. Continue being happy and don't feel like you don't deserve the ring anymore. Obviously you do, many people would've divorced him y'know. You gave him chances when no one else could understand why. Only you know him."
Beomgyu nodded and smiled a little bigger. "You're right. Gosh I'm being so stupid about this. It's just a silly ring."
"That means everything to you."
"...it does." He whispered as he looked at his hand. "It's the first thing I've gotten that I felt like I earned. Being married to someone and having that piece of jewelry means love, patience, trust, honesty, so many things. Things that I thought we lost and maybe we did but...we found it again. So...I should be allowed to wear it...right?"
"I think you're allowed to." Taehyun said before he stood to leave. "So stop holding yourself back."
