A Memory of Two: Lost and Found

Dilemma

The silence falls across the room. Both of them get nervous when Seokjin asks, "What's going on here? Are you guys having an argument over something?"

Then his eyes grounds on Sanem and he exclaims, "Is she sleeping?" But soon after enquiring he sees the hanging bottle of glucose besides her bed whose line is connected to the veins of her hand. His raises his brows and asks, "What happened to her? Is she okay?"

Taehyung - "She got fainted."

Seokjin - "I can also see that. The question is, how?"

Taehyung - "Doctor said that it sometimes happens due to heavy dose of medication. Also, she skipped her morning dose of medicine. So, that's may be the reason. Her blood pressure is low."

 Seokjin in worrisome tone - "What were you doing when she fainted? Were you around? When did she fainted? Did she get proper check up?"

Taehyung turns his face towards Jungkook and while staring him with a sarcastic smile, he announces, "Of course I was around, in fact she got fainted in my arms when I was hugging her. So, I carried her to my bed and called the doctor."

Seokjin - "Hey stob it. Don't spill the beans of your private moment."

Jungkook's face gets pale. He can feel the darkness of grief overcoming his body. Taehyung's statement shatters his heart into pieces which makes thunderous noises in his head. But still he says in disbelief while clenching his fist in anger, "He is lying. I can tell you. He is not saying the whole truth."

All of the men across the room turns their heads towards him with the mix feeling of surprise and shock. 

Seokjin - "And what made you think like that?"

Jungkook - "Because I know. His face looks like that of a real culprit."

Seokjin in his serious tone asks - "What are you talking Jungkook? What happens to you? Your behavior is really concerning."

Jimin interrupts in between and somewhat screams, "Wait! Hold on. Why are you all so loud? Can't you see, she is faint. Can we just move out and talk in order to not disturb in her comfort?" 

All of them suddenly realize, how loud they were! So, they all silenced themselves. 

Seokjin in almost whispering voice - "Okay. Just move out and let her rest. But someone should stay with her to look after her."

Hearing this, both Taehyung and Jungkook speaks out together, "I will stay."

Confusion flickers across the faces of Seokjin and Jimin. Also, Taehyung and Jungkook gives each other death stare with their stretched eyebrows. 

Seokjin - "Jungkook, I think you should move out with us. Taehyung can look after her."

Jungkook insists - "Hyung, I will stay. I won't believe him."

Seokjin, seeing stubbornness of Jungkook says, "What's wrong with you Jungkook?"

Jungkook knows Seokjin never refuses anything to him so, he continue being impudent in front of them. At last, Seokjin turns his head to Taehyung and says with a sigh, "It's okay Tae, let him stay if he wants. We all can trust him."

Taehyung's heart skips a beat with the thought of leaving his fiancée alone with another man. He says in dismay, "Hyung, let me stay close to her. I don't want any sort of distance with her in this situation."

Seokjin fells in dilemma and says, "Okay, let's do one thing. You both take turns taking care of her every hour." Although this idea doesn't seems good to anyone but still they agreed.

Jungkook - "I will stay first."

Seokjin signals Taehyung to follow him and Jimin out of the room. His moves out with heavy steps.

Jungkook pulls a chair near her bed and sits. He gives intense gaze to her face and murmurs, "Look jellybean! I have come to save you. Please open your eyes. This sight of yours brings great grief to me. Please wake up." But she responds nothing. His heart aches thinking how Taehyung must have treated her to bring her in this state and how she would have tackled him.

After some half an hour, Sanem stirs, her eyelids fluttering open to reveal the depths of her gaze. Her eyeballs rolls around in search of someone familiar near her. As her senses gradually sharpens, she becomes aware of a presence beside her—a figure seated in a chair, his features drawn with worry. With a start, she realizes it's Jungkook, his eyes fixed on her with a mixture of relief and concern. She almost panics seeing him beside her. Nervousness holds her breath with the thought of him being around her. For once, she thinks Jungkook might have killed Taehyung because this was the only way to enter his room after today's incident.

"Kookie?" Sanem's voice is barely a whisper, hoarse from disuse. She struggles to sit up, the events leading to her fainting spell still a blur in her mind. But Jungkook says, "Don't get up. Keep resting."

Sanem with her weak voice and in worrisome tone questions, "How did you get here? Did you kill Taehyung?"

Jungkook gives her a deep gaze and asks, "You want me to?"

Sanem sighs in relief knowing that at least Taehyung is alive.

Jungkook holds her hand and asks, "Jellybean."

Sanem - "Hmm..."

Jungkook - "What did he do with you?"

Sanem's gaze goes blank. She turns her head from his side to another and replies, "Nothing. I just forgot to take my medicine in the morning. Maybe that's why I fainted."

Jungkook turns her face towards himself and says, "Don't lie."

Sanem - "I am not."

Jungkook places his hand on her right cheek and says, "Did it hurt?"

Sanem lowers her eyes and sighs a little without any replies. She knows what would happen if she tells the whole truth but Jungkook's pleading red watery eyes forces her to speak, so she replies in murmuring voice

"A lot!"

Jungkook almost lost his temper but still pretends to be calm around her and questions, "Tell me, what he did to you?"

Sanem remains silent and looks at his worrisome face with a straight face and an intense gaze. 

Jungkook in his faltering voice says - "Don't worry, Jellybean. I am here now. I will protect you no matter what, and I will punish him in the most cruel way. "

Sanem breaks her silence and says, "Kookie!"
