A Memory of Two: Lost and Found

Name Tag

She stays silent. He asks again, "Are you really angry?"

Seeing that she is not responding, he says making an innocent face, "I am sorry if I hurt you. I didn't mean to."

Sanem closes the book and places the phone on the table she silently moves out of the library. He picks up her phone in his hand and follows her silently while saying, "Don't be angry please. I am sorry. Princess, listen I didn't mean to hurt you. Please don't get angry." He follows her through the corridors. She stops for a while and turns around to him and says, "Stop following me."

Taehyung - "I will follow you. Always, because I am destined for this."

Sanem - "What if I die?"

Taehyung bends a little to her face and says - "Then I will follow you afterlife."

Sanem's eyes soften, she continues - "But I will be in heaven. How would you reach there?"

Taehyung with a soft smile says - "Then I will stay at the gate of heaven to see you."

Sanem - "What if you end up in hell?"

Taehyung - "Then after the completion of my punishment, I would beg them to see you."

Sanem - "What if they won't allow?"

Taehyung - "I will fight against them."

Sanem chuckles - "How will you?"

Taehyung - "because people says love has immense power. So, I will make plans to against the odds to pursue them. But I know that they will not separate me from you."

Sanem - "How?"

Taehyung - "Because the universe knows I love you and they don't punish lovers." 

Sanem - "And what will you do after that?"

Taehyung - "I will follow you. Always, because I am destined for this."

Sanem stays silence for a while and looks into his eyes with a soft smile. She says, "You are too cheesy. From where did you learn these lines."

Taehyung - "you made me learn."

Sanem asks in surprise - "When? How?"

 Taehyung - "Your love made me learn it."

Sanem blushes. Her face heats up. She starts walking and he again follows her. For the whole day, wherever she goes, he follows her. At evening, she says while getting irritated, "Why do you always hover around me? Stop it now."

Taehyung - "Because I want to be with you."

Sanem - "How long?"

Taehyung - "Always."

Sanem gets frustrated and says - "Don't say more cheesy lines. Please."

Taehyung - "Okay, okay. Don't get irritated. Tell me if you want to eat something."

Sanem - "I don't know. Although I am somewhat hungry."

Taehyung - "Okay just wait for two minutes. I will be back."

Sanem sits quietly on the couch in the lobby and waits for him. He comes up with two packets of Honey butter chips in his hands and offers one to her saying, "Eat this. It's delicious."

Sanem giggles and takes it. She eats and finds it good. She smiles and says, "thank you."

Taehyung smiles back to her and sit beside her in the couch. He says, "Eat this. After that, I want to show you something."

She looks at him and nods. After some moments, they both go to the bedroom, Taehyung opens his closet and takes out a uniform. Sanem wonders what is he doing. He smiles at her says, "This used to be my uniform when I was in high school. Whenever I remember those memories, I feel nostalgic about how I used to be a teenage and Jimin was there with me. My high school was a mix emotion of happiness and sadness. You know, I used to have a crush on a girl in my class but that time she rejected me because I was a farmer's son and it broke my heart. But then, I met you and realized how beautiful love can be. See, here is my name tag on it."

Sanem looks at his name tag carefully. After a while, he ripped his name tag off his uniform and present it to her. She stays silence while looking at him strangely. He extends his hand while placing name tag in his palm. Sanem takes the name tag and he smiles brightly. His face gets red. Sanem doesn't understand his behavior. He asks shyly, "So, do you accept my name tag?"

Sanem gives him a confused look and says, "What's there to accept? You yourself give me this. I just took it from your hand."

Taehyung - "It's called acceptance. You take my name tag so I consider that you accept."

Sanem with an innocent face says, "If you want it back, then take it."

Taehyung - "No. You keep it. After all, I belong to you. So, you have to keep it."

Sanem doesn't question and keep the name tag with her. After a moment, she asks, "So, where is that girl now?"

Taehyung - "I don't know. She must be doing good in her life." 

Sanem - "You never tried to search her?"

Taehyung - "umm.... hmm never because I got busy in my career. Although sometimes I remembered her and it was painful but now I feel nothing about her."

Sanem - "What if someday she comes to you and say that she loves you."

Taehyung stays silence for a moment because he wanted to tease her.

She asks again, "Answer me."

Taehyung - "Then I will refuse her proposal."

Sanem - "Why did you take so much time to reply? Do you have any doubt?"

 Taehyung - "What doubt?"

Sanem - "If you would be able to refuse her or not."

Taehyung - "No. It's not like that."

And he starts moving out of the room keeping his uniform on the couch. Sanem follows him through the corridors and she keeps asking, "Then, what is it?"

He doesn't reply but keep walking. He likes the way she follows him and he blushes hard to feel her behind him. A bright smile covered his face at once but he controls himself and keep his face serious. She asks while following him again, "Why are you not answering? It means you have doubt if you would be able to refuse her." He still doesn't say anything. She holds his wrist from behind to make him stop and goes in front of him. She asks with stretched eyebrows, "why are you not replying? I am asking something."

Taehyung - "Nothing. I told you that I will refuse."

Sanem - "Why did you take so long time?"

Taehyung - "to tease you."

Sanem frowns but the very next moment she laughs. Seeing this, Taehyung also laughs softly.
