"Avery?," Rayne asked as I was watching a romantic comedy on the television.

"Yeah?," I asked pausing my movie. She sat down beside me and patted my leg.

"Is Jax giving you a hard time dear? He can be a handful at times," she said with a small laugh.

"Oh no. We're actually getting along better than I thought we would. He's been nice company," I smiled.

"That's good, I just know him. He acts just like his father," she laughed.

"I haven't seen him that much yet," I said.

"He's always at work. It keeps him calm."

"Ah."

"Good afternoon," Jax smiled walking into the living room in his basketball shorts.

"Morning," I said unpausing my movie.

"Love you kids but I'm headed to work," Rayne said walking out of the house.

"So what are we doing today Avery?," Jax asked sitting down beside me.

"Nothing," I yawned. "I'm too tired."

"Nothing? Not even a Netflix marathon?"

"Mmm...that sounds good."

"Like what show series?"

"Gossip Girl sounds good," I yawned.

"Okay," Jax said lying on the couch behind me so we were against each other.

"Jax why have you changed so much since I moved in?"

"Never judge a book by its cover," he said turning on Gossip Girl, season 1 episode 1.

"So have you watched this show before?," I asked resting my head against his bicep.

"Yeah some of it."

"How far?"

"To season 2."

"Oh," I laughed. "Well what did you think of Serena and Dan?"

"I think it was cute she fell in love with a normal typical human that wasn't high class royalty...but they just weren't cute together," he said. "She was way too pretty for him."

I smiled and watched the show. His hands would play with my hair and he would kiss my head every once in awhile.

After awhile he got up. "I have to get to lacrosse practice."

"Can I watch?"

"Yeah. Of course," he smiled.

"Good because watching you practice all sweaty with your shirt off would be super hot," I said with a smirk.

He just smiled. "I know."

He grabbed his car keys from his room and grabbed my hand. "All of my stuff is in my locker, and sorry its a weekend practice. We have a big game coming up."

"I don't mind," I said getting into his car. He just smiled and nodded.

When we got to the school, I sat down on the bleachers and watched them practice for three hours.

He was really good, when he was goalie, he never missed a shot. And when he threw towards the goal, he never missed either.

Kacey and Michael played lacrosse too. Leah came and we talked most of the time, but Courtney had to work. She was saving up for an apartment.
Her idea to name it the "party apartment."

I was all up for it I guess.

"So how long have you gone to this school?," Leah asked.

"Um," I laughed. "Since preschool."

"Woah. I've gone through four schools since I got here. But I think this is my school to stay. My dad's in the navy so we always try to live somewhere near the army base."

"So you could possibly move?"

"Well," she sighed. "My parents actually got in a fight, so I don't think it matters if he's stationed somewhere else... My mom will probably stay here with my brother and I."

"I didn't know you had a brother."

Yeah he's a senior this year. His name is Anthony," she said. "He gets into a lot of trouble. He's gone to juvy three times. He's stolen a car, tried stealing a bracelet from a jewelry store, and he got his license suspended for drinking and driving. He doesn't steal because we don't have money, I mean my dads in the navy and my mom is a doctor, he does it for attention. For the exact reason that my dad is in the navy. He misses him, we all do. And the divorce which is about to happen, will only make it worse."

"That's horrible," I said hugging her. "Has he talked to either one of your parents about this?"

"No, of course not."

"He should. He really should."

"Your right. But he's never...he would never be open about his feelings. He's hard as stone."

I nodded and watched the guys leave the field and into the locker room. I grabbed her hand and walked with her to the locker room. I wasn't "shy" you could say. But Leah was having a panic attack.

"We cannot go in there!," she whispered yelled at me. I shrugged and kept on walking towards the locker room.

"Avery!," she screeched when I opened the door and walked in with her. The coach wasn't in there, I saw him leave the parking lot before I even got to the locker room doors.

There was a chorus of whistles. When I caught sight of Jax and Michael's eyes, I wanted to burst into laughter. They looked like I just walked in here naked or something.

"Hey," I said casually sitting on the bench.

"Leah?!," Michael asked turning red. She just kept her eyes anywhere except on him.

"Avery?," Jax laughed putting on his shirt and pushing everything else in his locker.

"Yes?"

"What are you doing in here? Guys get changed in here."

"I wanted to surprise you," I smiled.

"Well I'm surprised," he grinned grabbing my hand. Michael already had Leah walking out the doors with him, as his hands covered her eyes from any male exposure.

When we got to the car Jax just shook his head and smirked. "I never thought I'd see my girlfriend walk into the guy's locker room. With Leah I might add."

"I'm your girlfriend?"

"My first ever I must say," he laughed pulling me in for a kiss. I just smiled.

"I'm good with that."
