          CHAPTER THIRTY SEVEN ― UNDER THESE TWINKLING LIGHTS BETRAYAL LINGERS

     "ELIJAH!" I CALL OUT hurriedly, pushing people out of my way. Several send me dirty looks, but I ignore them, intent on telling the eldest Mikaelson brother of what I was slowly beginning to suspect was a turbulent ― no, dangerous ―  alliance. 

      Finally, I reach him, and tug at his arm, which, as usual was covered by a coating of black Armani material. It did not even appear that Elijah put extra effort to make himself presentable for the soiree since he always emanated to be the poster child of male classiness.
