**Y/N's POV**
Walking off the airplane I couldn't help but take a deep breath to allow the fresh air to engulf my lungs. There was truly no place like home.
I had been gone for four years attending the University of Hawai'i to get my degree in business. But halfway through college, I decided I wanted to do something different with my life.
I always loved helping people so somehow I juggled going to school and studying to become an EMT. If things didn't work out being an EMT I knew I would at least have my business degree to fall back on. In my sophomore year of college, I decided to also take classes to further my education so I could become a paramedic instead of an EMT.
Once I graduated from school I decided to move back home. I missed the close-knit group of friends I had grown up with. I didn't have much family but I still had my grandparents around and I wanted to spend as much time as possible with them. So coming back home was truly a no-brainer for me.
After I exited the plane we had to walk inside to get to the main part of the airport and I couldn't help but take in the new sights around me. Even the airport had changed significantly since I left. I walked to baggage claim waiting for my bags for a few minutes before I gathered them all.
Then I proceeded to walk to the car rental place they had in the airport to rent a car since I had given up everything when I left for school. I decided to go with a nice pickup truck since that's what I was thinking about buying myself once I was settled. After signing all the paperwork I was given the keys and left.
After looking for a few minutes I finally found the truck and loaded my bags into the back. Driving down the main street in my small hometown always brought me back to good times growing up. My friends and I meet up on a Friday night to watch a movie and grab some food afterward.
Or during the fall we would always attend the harvest festival trying to see which one of us could get more girls numbers. Everyone knew I was born intersex and I was always into girls so it was nothing new.
When I pulled up to my grandparent's house I couldn't help the smile that spread across my face as I saw them sitting on their porch laughing with their old beagle Benji sitting at their feet. I continued driving down the long driveway before parking. They looked in my direction with a puzzled look on their face trying to figure out who was in the mysterious vehicle I chuckled to myself as I got out of the truck.
"Surprise!" I yelled as I finally showed my face making my Nana gasp "Y/NN? Oh my God Y/N you're home!" She squealed as she quickly got up out of her chair followed by my Pop.
