Chapter 13: After affect

After Capture the flag I meet up with Darlene and hugged her, she was alive it was a miracle. She had a special way of pissing people off and making them want to kill her, and Nico could kill her very easily (I think). Then she was in her cabin all day, sleeping and Nico watching her because I wasn't allowed because I had classes and stuff. Most people went to the campfire that was held every night, we were headed in that direction when we were stopped. By Drew and her mean friends.

"Drew leave us alone, please," I complained not really in the mood, For her and her bullying.

"Oh c'mon Gaskin I'm just here to introduce myself to the new camper." She said pointing at Darlene. "Well then so Darlene how are you and your boyfriend doing?" She asked I could see Darlene was annoyed.

" He's not my boyfriend." She said coldly in between closed teeth.

"Sorry Gaskin she doesn't like you back, what a shame." She said with false sorrow, Darlene looked at me.

"What is she talking about?" She asked with a pissed tone.

"Oh you poor soul, not being able to read him. He has a humongous crush on you, I don't see why though, you're mean, and quite frankly you're a loser." She said to Darlene hitting it where it hurt. She continued with insults, I wasn't quite sure why but she did." Your also very stupid, and immature, your pathetic, annoying and just a complete idiot." She finished. Darlene didn't look hurt, so if she was (and she probably was) she was hiding it well.

I tried to think of something to say but couldn't think of anything. Then Darlene insulated Drew so bad, she looked very hurt. " Drew, iyou suck." Drew was offended beyond measures, and she usually never gets offended. Darlene being the individual she is added "That's right be offended" and started walking off.

I froze then quickly ran after her, she didn't look hurt at all she had a smile on her face. "Darlene are you okay?" I asked really worried she would do something rash.

"I'm perfectly fine, I just need to go to bed and sleep so ya bye!" She said and started running towards her cabin, I was faster than her I ran in front of her and stopped her. "Dude I'm fine I promise" she said there was a moment of sclience before she whispered something "maybe.." and started walking again she got in her cabin and locked the door, there was no keys for the cabin doors that I knew of. You were never suppose to lock the door for reasons that could go on forever,

I banged on the door and was yelling, "Darlene let me in or just come out please! I know your not okay, and your trying your be strong and that's okay but you need to let me help you!" I wasn't angry but I was to worried that she was going to do something horrible. The other thing was she could be angry, sad, happy, fine, or any emotion she could be quite when she wanted to and when she really tried. Epically when she cried, she said it helped so people wouldn't worry and ask if she was oaky, because she didn't like the attention. For all I knew she could be crying her eyes out and I would have no idea.

I sat there for the whole campfire quite making sure I could hear something human like breathing and movement. After 5 minutes of just sitting there I started crying, I kept telling her that she could open the door when she was ready. She didn't really respond just mumbling, I accepted that as somewhat of a responce. I lost track of time because before I knew it people were going to their cabins.

Percy walked Annabeth and ran over to his and noticed me against the door.

"Excuse me" he said polightly looking down at me.

I looked up at him a huge smile on his face, "No point, Darlene locked the door" I said still wiping tears from my face. He didn't believe me I moved aside and he tried to pull the door open it wouldn't budge. "Told you I" said.

"Why would she lock herself in? Darlene are you okay?" He asked loudly through the door. All that she did was reply with mumbling that sounded like yes.

"I-I have a idea in why though, Drew was being a jerk to her and s-she takes things way to personally and s-she gets bullied so much. She finally broke and she never crys in front of others or trys not to. But she's been in there for so long and, I don't kn-" he cut me off.

"Wait a minute," I was crying a lot. He looked over and saw someone I didn't bother looking. I just tried to stop but it was almost impossible. A bunch of campers were around the cabin "Nico come here! He yelled, someone had come up and sat next to me comforting me, I looked over and saw Piper she was the nicest child of Aphorodite in my opinion.

Nico came over and so did Will, Percy explained what had happened and how they needed to get in.Nico was fine with the plan shadow traval in unlock the door but Will said no, he was not fully rested and would only shadow travel in, if all else fails. Will then suggested getting Conner or Travis to come pick the lock. It didn't take long for them to be located, they were in there cabin.

They rushed over with lock picking tools, when hearing they were being asked to pick a lock. When the door was opened only four people were allowed in; Will, Nico, Percy, and I. Darlene had broke, she had been broken for so long and it was all my fault.
