Chapter 17 - Mrs. Blancher (Nick's Pov)

"Demi?" a voice suddenly called out to us from behind. 

We both turned to look at who was calling.

"Hi?" Demi asked

"You don't remember me?" The speaker was a middle aged woman who has a very nice smile and kind eyes. 

"No, I"m sorry" Demi said

"Oh Demi, you have grown more prettier" She smiled

Demi looked at me, unsure of what to make of of this woman.

"You know her?" I asked

"OF course, You're Demi Lovato right?"

Demi smiled. "yes I am, but I'm sorry I don't remember you." 

"OH, my dear forgive me, I have forgotten you had amnesia"

"A- what?" Demi asked

Demi held my hand as I felt her hands sweat and her heart pound loudly.

"Amnesia?" Demi asked.

"Oh dear, you ought to visit me soon, we have a lot to talk about, my name is Mrs. Blancher, I was your kindergarten teacher"

"OH" Demi said, but she showed no sign of recognition.

"Oh I've missed you dear, if only nick was still here?"

"Nick" I asked

"The other Jonas" Mrs. Blancher said

"the other Jonas?" Demi asked

"You know, Joe's brother who died a few years ago"

"Hey, you okay?" I asked as we stood on Mrs. Blancher's front door the next day.

Demi sighed. "we can do this" she smiled at me and I intertwined my hand with hers 

She looked at me in relief.

"we're gonna be okay" I said as I whispered in her ear and kissed her forehead.

"Good afternoon dear" Mrs. Blancher greeted us at the door.

"Good afternoon" we both smiled

"come on in, come in"

She invited us in to her small living room, "Cupcakes" she offered

Demi smiled, "yes please, thank you" 

"I knew you've always loved cupcakes Demi, ooh is this your boyfriend?" she looked and smiled at me

Now that was awkward because I knew I love Demi but we're not really an official couple, yet.

"You know you look like Nick" Mrs. Blancher smiled "Oh I love that boy, I only wish he was still here, I mean his brother Joe has turned to be such a jerk lately"

"What about me, Mrs Blancher" Demi asked

"Oh Demi, forgive my insensitivity the other day, I didn't meant to dump it all on you I have forgotten your sickness"

"Mrs. Blancher I've been lost lately, Can you tell me more about what happened to me"

"Oh dear, it was another one of your playdates with the Jonas brothers and Nick fell of the swing and you were crying and you got hit by a truck, they say you suffered amnesia after that"

"What about this Nick brother?" I asked

"His parents told me he died"

I gripped Demi's hand and he looked at me with concern.

"You okay?" she asked

"Joe use to come here after the accident. He was a sad boy then, it was like he was the one who suffered all of it and somehow survived. His brother died and he lost his best friend all in one day."

I tried to control my anger but I was mad at Joe, at my parents at everyone.

"You really don't remember anything?" Mrs. Blancher asked me 

"I'm sorry, I wish I could, I really wish I could"

Mrs. Blancher smiled at me, "Don't stress yourself too much Dear, it will all come to you soon"

"Well thank you for your time, but we'd better get going" I said

We hugged the dear woman goodbye.

"Thank you so much" Demi whispered to her

I took Demi's hand and we headed out.

"Thank you Nick" She sighed as she kissed my cheek

"Hey we better go back, Frankie would be home soon" I said

"Your welcome" i said

"she said something awkward back then, about you being my boyfriend" Demi said

"Yeah" I said

"Well?" she asked

"I would like that very much" I smiled.
