Merlin had left the chambers of him and Gaius, to search for Lucy. He had to talk to her. She would be the only one with a proper answer on his questions about the prophecy, and everything else.
Softly, he knocked on the door of her chamber in the palace, to find it empty. Of course, it was at the middle of the day, She was probably doing some chars for Guinevere.
He went upstairs, to the chambers of Arthur and Gwen, to find Lucy folding Gwen her laundry.
"Can we talk for a minute?"
"Sure. Have you seen the prophecy?"
"I have. Two prophecies, actually."
Lucy looked up from her work, and for a moment, Merlin could see all his emotions reflected in her eyes. Hope. Fear. Curiousity. Everything.
"You've read both the ones over the new dawn?" She asked.
"It's gonna be terrible, isn't it?"
"Oh yeah, it will," she said. "We'll be on the edge of dead."
"That might be, but there is still something else, Lucy. You're as much an ordinairy person as I am with my magic. You came out of nowhere. If our futures are truly bounded with each other, don't you think it would be time to-"
At the same moment, Gwen came in, and Merlin acted like he needed to do something for Arthur.
"All your dresses are back on their places, my lady," Lucy said. "How are you feeling?"
"Pleasantly good, thank you," she answered. "You are dismissed from your duties for now."
"Thank you, my lady," Lucy answered. "In that case, I will see you in a hour for your first lesson about magic."
"I am looking forward to it."
Lucy grabbed Merlin by his arm, and took him to the corridor outside Arthur and Gwen their chambers.
"I... You are Emrys, and I am the guardian," she said. "Because you are Emrys, and because we are two hands of the same body... Can you make sure you are in your room at ten tonight?"
"Of... Of course," Merlin answered surprised.
"I'll see you then, in that matter."
Quickly, she walked away, and Merlin noticed that he was smiling. God, why was he smiling about the girl who had torn their world apart, literally?

"Merlin, is this really necessary?"
"Yes, it is!" Merlin replied. They were in Arthur and Gwen their room, with on the table multiple books about magic, sorcery, and creatures of magic.
"Before, all knowledge about magic was banned, but you will need it in the future. Really."
Arthur wanted to ask why specially he was teaching him about the old religion, but he already knew the answer. Because Merlin was Emrys. The most powerful of all. And that did scared him sometimes.
"So, with what do you want to start? History, creatures of magic, or magic itself?"
Arthur murmled something about "Not being an idiot," what made Merlin grin.
"You might not be an idiot, but you are a clothpole. You are king Arthur after all."
"Merlin?"
"Yes?"
"Shut up and do what you are supposed to do."
"Is there something you want to start with?"
"I don't know. The beginning, maybe?"
"All right then."
So, Merlin started at the beginning. He told Arthur about the triple goddess, who had created magic on the earth, her three faces, and those who followed her, the priests and priestessess, and the disir, who spoke for her on this world.
Surprisingly... Arthur was interested. He listened to every word Merlin said, and he was eager to remember every word. He knew that this was the world his friend had lived in all this time, and from now on, it was his world too. He had to learn, if he ever wanted to understand it. He had to learn, if he ever wanted to understand the people in his land who were practicing magic.
Merlin started to explain the diffrent meanings of Warlock, Witch, sorcerer, and sorceres, and Arthur rose his eyebrows when Merlin explained the part of him being born with magic, and others studying it.
"But what is the diffrence?" He asked.
Ouch. This would get... Weird.
"Well... The triple goddess knew you would become the once and future king. So she made sure that I was born, with magic, to guide you and to protect you. I am born to serve you."
He expected a classical Arthur comment, but he did not hear it.
"You are the most loyal servant and friend a man could ever wish for," Arthur said. "I am very gratefull for that."
Merlin smiled in appreciation.
"Thank you. Were was I... Well, while others have to study many and many years to do the next thing I will show you, I could already do this when I was five."
Without any effort, Merlin made a candle fly through the room, and at the same moment, Lucy and Gwen came in.
"Enjoying yourselves?" She asked.
"Merlin as a teacher... It is very refreshing," Arthur said. He stood up from the bed where he had been sitting on, and embraced his wife.
"And how was the special magical education of my queen?" He asked, to follow this question with a kiss.
"Very special," she smiled. "We've talked about magical creatures."
Arthur and Gwen started to talk about their day, while Merlin and Lucy left the room in silence, to make preparations for Gwen and Arthur their dinner. On their way to the kitchens, Lucy looked around, like she did not want anyone to hear them.
"Arthur and Gwen need to know about the prophecies," she said. "And they need to know it soon."
"I think you are right," Merlin said. "But how are you planning on-"
"What, walking in and saying; Hello sire, I am sorry to interrupt, but there are two prophecies that tell Morgana will start an enormous war, which can only be fought with magic, and oh yeah, the entire world is going to change again. So ehm, I wanted you to know?"
Both were silent for a while, and both of them thought exactly the same. They could not just walk into their chambers, and start telling them about prophecies. Specially those two.
"We need to find a way in making them aware of what is about to come, In a way... They need to start believing in what prophecies are telling them. I once made that mistake, and I don't want them to make it."
"Merlin, you just gave me an excellent idea," Lucy answered.
"And am I going to like it?" He asked.
"Not at all."

That night, Arthur awoke from something he could not put his finger on. There was something...
He turned around, and took his sword, what was next to the bed of him and Gwen.
He knew. Someone was watching them.
When he did the curtains away, his heart fell down in his chest. Merlin was standing in the room, and Arthur wanted to make a "Merlin, you idiot," comment, but his voice did not wanted to work. The lips of his mouth became dry, when he saw Merlin his eyes. There was no pupil or iris to see. Only a bright white. His eyes were shining brightly white, in a dark room. His entire face... It made Arthur affraid.
"Merlin, what are you doing here?"
He hoped he would get a normal response, but Merlin said nothing.
"The last remaining priestess will bring war upon all

The guardian and Emrys will interfer
Elements and powerful forces on their sides
Their price will be high,
All for a new dawn."
Arthur realised Merlin had not opened his mouth. He had spoken to him through his mind, through magic, but this voice... It did not sound like Merlin's.
"What does that mean?" Arthur asked.
"Ask your friend the warlock," the voice replied. "But there is also some good news.
At the dawn of a new world, two ultimate leaders will stand,

King of the once and the future, Lady with the kindness of heart,
Brother and sister united,
Bound by magic and love,
Guarded and guided by those who have been there before."
"What... What does that mean?" Arthur asked. "What are you actually saying?"
"You are a clever man, Arthur Pendragon," the voice said. "Ask the warlock."
"Wait!"
The light in Merlin's eyes disappeared, and the room became completely dark. When Arthur lightened a candle, he saw that Merlin had disappeared.
"Arthur, what are you doing?" The sleepy voice of Gwen sounded. "It is in the middle of the night."
"Nothing," he said. "You should go back to sleep."

"You were right. I hated it."
Merlin and Lucy were sitting on Merlin's bed, talking about the nice piece of magic they had used to A, scare Arthur, and B, make him believe in the two prophecies.
"I am sorry," she smiled. "Next time, I'll do it. I promise."
They both laughed, and Merlin realised tha he liked her, Lucy. Ireth. He liked her a lot. Nothing like he had with Freya, back in the days, but still... He liked her.
"Well, I guess this is the moment of truth, hm?"
"Eh... Sorry?"
"The truth. I would tell you the truth tonight."
"Oh... Yeah, you would."
Lucy swallowed.
"To begin with; You were right; I am not an ordinairy witch I am the daughter of the triple goddess."

BOOM. A nice long chapter, with a satisfying ending, I hope. Are you all enjoying it? What do you guys think of the magical education, the prophecies, and the starting bond between Merlin and Lucy/Ireth? Any ideas, or comments? Leave it all in a comment ;)
