Gaara's face looked hungry for the fight. Kakashi had gone to join Sakura somewhere in the crowd, I was sure that Sakura would have a thing or two to say to Kakashi.

"Begin!" the examiner sliced his hand through the air to signal the start of the long awaited Uchiha match.

The battle began immediately, Gaara's sand swarmed out of his gourd and reached towards Sasuke. Sasuke seemed prepared for this, he leaped back as the sand chased after him half-heartedly.

Gaara's sand suddenly froze and Gaara cringed, gripping his head, "Ugh!" he trembled, "Don't get so angry... mother," he hissed.

Sasuke narrowed his eyes at him, unsure of what he was talking about, "Is he okay?" Liz asked, her eye twitching, "He's calling Sasuke his mother... that's kinda... well, unless Sasuke is gay and he adopted a kid the same age as him..." Liz said, cocking her head as if she really had to think hard about the possibility of that theory.

"I fed you nasty blood a few days ago, I'm sorry... but this time," he looked at Sasuke maliciously, "It will be delicious," he snarled.

"Okay, it's official, this kid has some serious problems, perhaps even more problems than Naruto and Sasuke put together," Liz shook her head sadly.

"Ugh!" Gaara gave one last spasm and his body went limp, then he perked back up, "Come," he ordered.

"Here I come," Sasuke warned and threw two shurikens at Gaara.

The shield of sand stopped the two shurikens and slowly morphed into Gaara, a sand clone. The two shurikens were now trapped in the sand clone's hand. Sasuke charged towards the clone but its chest suddenly exploded forward, the sand reaching towards Sasuke, trying to capture him in its hungry grip. Sasuke leaped into the air to avoid it but It threw the two shurikens it had at Sasuke, who countered them with two more shurikens. Sasuke kicked the clone as he landed but the clone blocked that with ease. Sasuke performed his signature flip and his hand came up to smash down on the clone. The clone looked surprised when Sasuke's arm connected with his neck but the loose sand then wrapped itself around Sasuke's arm, trapping him there.

"That can't be good," Liz murmured darkly.

Sasuke brought his other hand up to collide with the clone's face. The sand clone fell away and Sasuke charged forward, his hand aimed for Gaara.

"He's not bad," Liz remarked.

"It won't be that easy... I can feel it," I said, grimacing.

"Oh, of course, now you are telepathically linked with your not boyfriend," Liz said, rolling her eyes.

Just as Liz finished her sentence, a shield of sand erupted from the ground and stop Sasuke's punch. But Sasuke didn't seemed to be surprised or anything. Then, he was suddenly gone. My eyes could barely follow him, especially since there was quite a long distance between us. He stopped behind Gaara and his punch impacted with his face, cracking something on his face. Gaara flew backwards and landed hard on the ground.

"So that's the armour of sand, eh?" Sasuke said as flakes of dirt fell off of Gaara's cheek.

Gaara got back up to his feet, glaring at Sasuke the whole time.

Sasuke held his hand out in the same way as Lee did, "Come on," he challenged and beckoned to Gaara with his hand.

They collided again and Sasuke used the same trick as he did before, his movements were as fast as Lee. He finally managed to hit Gaara with a kick after many bouts of dodging and attacking.

"What's wrong? Is that it?" Sasuke mocked.

He suddenly started running again and this time, his speed had increased two fold. He was a blur, even with my specially trained eyes.
