No, I thought firmly, I won't let us die here, not this way.

I focused every single drop of energy I had left in my body and converted it into chakra. With Sasuke under one arm, my other hand and my feet are the only chakra conductors I had available. I split my energy among them and directed my fall towards the canyon wall. I managed to slow my fall bit by bit but my hands began to bleed as they scraped against the wall.

Damn, I should've worn my gloves, I berated myself.

"Crap!" I hissed as the rock I was holding onto cracked and I fell another meter before I could stop myself.

I saw that Sasuke's kunai holster just inches from my hand that was holding him. My fingers reached out for it and when I finally got my finger around the handle of one, I pulled it out and tossed it into the air above me. I caught it with my teeth and with all of the force I could muster, I slammed it into the cliff side. It stuck and I released my hold on the wall with chakra to grab onto the kunai. We hung there limply, my hand straining as the weight of two people stretched my muscles to their limits.

How much longer can I hold on?, I hung my head in lethargy.

That's when I saw my ticket to cheat death. I released my grip around the kunai and we fell. I twisted around so that I would get the impact first. All of the air in my lungs and stomach came whooshing out as I collided with the stone ledge beneath me. The stone ledge was just a meter or two away from the water's edge. Waves crashed deafeningly against the rock. I rolled Sasuke off of me and began wheezing. I couldn't even find the energy to sit up but I had to. I forced myself up albeit shakily and crawled over to where Sasuke was lying. I rolled him onto his back and pressed my ear to his chest where a steady heartbeat was still sounding. I sighed and lifted my head to look at his unconscious face.

"That was too close... much too close," I brushed a strand of hair away from his face and looked around.

The cliff was much too sheer for me to climb, especially without handholds within a two meter radius of each other.

The only way would be to wait for the others to come back for us or summon Excalibur but I don't have enough chakra for that yet, I looked up where Naruto, Sakura, Liz and Idate were supposed to be fighting, It's all up to you...

Just then, a sharp metallic smell entered my nose and I looked around frantically for the source. I noticed a cut on Sasuke's arm and I pulled out a wrap of gauze from my holster. I unraveled a meter of it and I began to gently bandage his wound. By the time I was done, the smell of blood still wasn't gone. A stinging sensation told me what the source truly was. My shoulder.

Well, I can't wrap this one up very easily. I'll tend to it later.

The sound of an almighty roar made me jump. I looked up only to see Aoi sail across the canyon and plummet down towards us. I watched with cold pleasure as he landed with a loud splash in the swirling waters. My head tilted up again as I saw the others on the edge of the cliff, looking down at me.

"Vira! Oh my god, you're okay!" Liz called, her voice shaky.

I waved, "Good job! We're both okay!"

"Naruto is the best tag team partner besides you, Vira! We totally destroyed that guy!" Liz whooped happily, "Want us to come for you now?"

"Don't worry about us! Finish the race!" I shouted back.

She nodded, "We'll come back for you as soon as we can!" Liz shouted and they discussed something before all four of them leaped and clung onto the only rope of the suspension bridge that was still holding.
