CHAPTER 9
"Dash, I seriously don't understand your brother." I told Dash when I went back to his room.
"Which brother?" he asked without looking away from his lego Transformer character. "Oh, no need to answer that. I know who you're talking about. He's a guy, Kaitlyn. You'll never understand him."
Nagbuntong-hininga ako. "But, I understand you."
This time he looked up at me and gave a disappointing look. "Seriously? I'm still just a boy, not a guy nor a man. There's a difference."
Aba, ang galing mag salita nang batang ito! Pero may punto naman si Dash. Mas madaling intindihin ang mga bata kesa mga teenage guys.
"Okay, okay. You're telling me you're just a boy but you sound like an old person with gray hair and wrinkled skin." I teased him a little bit.
But he threw a piece of lego at me. "Heyyyy! I am not gonna get wrinkled skin."
"Oh you are, little boy. When you become much older than your dad, not even gray but white hair will replace your beautiful soft hair in the future." I told him, and I messed with his hair.
"Not unless, I invent something that would make me look young forever. Or actually, I could just find myself a girl vampire and have her bite me so I'll turn into one and I'll never age! HAHA!"
That cracked me up. Dash's imagination is brilliant and scary at the same time.
"HAHA. You are funny, Dash. Okay, what are we gonna do now?"
He shrugged, not knowing what to do either. I know he's worried about her sister. He's just trying to hide it by making himself busy with things. That's when it hit me too. I'll just clean the house while everyone's busy taking care of Diane.
"You know what, Dash. You should make something for your sister. I'm sure she'll appreciate it. And in the mean time, I'll go help clean the house or something. I need something to distract me from these dangerous thoughts."
That's when naalala ko na kelangan ko palang magpaalam kay Dane about Thursday. I called him, and as always his assistant picked up.
"Hello, Ms. Kaitlyn. Mr. Dane is in a meeting right now, can I take a message?" She asked, waiting for my response.
Her voice sounded so intimidating that it took me a moment to respond.
"Ms. Kaitlyn? Are you there?"
"Ohh! Yeah.. uhm. I wanted to take Thursday off because my... uhm, mom wants to see me on Thursday. So, uh just tell him when he's available, to call me about it soon, please. Thank you. Bye."
I was already halfway done with cleaning the game room. It was my first time cleaning the game room. Before, I played with Dash and literally trashed the game room. I felt bad for the person who cleaned it, but never did anything because I was only babysitting. Now, I know how it felt to clean up a trashed game room. I'd have to talk to Dash about cleaning up after he plays with his toys.
Natapos ako sa game room, then Mr. Belyakov's office, and after that I even cleaned up the patio. Cleaning up some parts of the house made me feel so much better. Nawala rin sa isipan ko ang nagyari gakabi at kanina. Ngayon, mas nakakabahan pa rin ako sa nangyari kay Diane. Natakot talaga ako kanina. First time kong ma-experience ang anxiety attacks ni Diane. I never knew what really happened to their mom either or what happened to Diane that made her like that now.
I finaly pulled out the chair from the patio and sat. It might've been already 2PM or 3PM, I wasn't sure but it felt like it was 3PM because of the intense heat the sun's shining down on South Florida, especially my body.
