I couldn't repost this whole chapter as a flashback. But I thought it was important for you guys to re-read so you can see where August head was when he gave her permission.

New chapter coming today.

Amber POV-

"Good morning baby." I said as Aug came into the kitchen.

He ignored me and opened the fridge and got out a yogurt.

"I'm ironing your clothes for you babe. I just got to finish up the shirt."  I finished up ironing.

"I didn't ask you to do that." He got a spoon and tore off the lid of the yogurt.

"No but you always tell me how you miss me catering to you like I did before I had to work so early. So I thought I'd do that for you this morning." I handed him his clothes.

He looked at me.

"You wanted to cater to me or somebody at the W?"

I felt a lump develop in my throat.

"What are you talking about?" I tried to play it off.

He let out a little chuckle. "You really think I'm stupid." He took his clothes from me.

"I don't think you're stupid August."

"Who used our credit card to rent a room at the W?" He looked at me.

Oh god. I didn't even think about the fact I used our joint credit card for the room with Tiggy. I mentally slapped my forehead.

He walked toward me and I kept walking back until the counter stopped me.

"You would stoop so low to fuck a nigga while my baby inside you?"

"No August. Gross. I would never do that."

"What you doing then?" He got in my face, locking me in with his hands where I couldn't move.

I looked down.

"You never going to lie with me and get away with it. I asked your ass yesterday, what the fuck was up. And you swore up and down it was nothing."

"It's not a man August."

"You cheating on me with a bitch?"

"No!" I yelled.

"Well you got ten seconds to tell me what the fuck is up before I show my fucking ass."

"One of the victims in a case I worked on is in a bad domestic situation and I just wanted to help her. She's so young August. If it was Assata I would want someone to help her. The girl is out here all alone."

"Why didn't you tell me that yesterday?"

"I know how you get and when I was frantic about her case before you told me to leave it alone."

"Did she come to you in the capacity of work?" He asked me slowly.

I shook my head no.
