***Westin aka Wes in m/m****

AMBER P.O.V. –

I had dropped Donielle off the other day and between me and Aug it had been silent. He stayed locked away, refusing to talk to anybody. And I had been heavily contemplating whether this marriage was worth it anymore. It was getting to me. I was in the middle of class and I had a breakdown. I cancelled it. And now I’m in my office balling my eyes out.

There was a knock at my office door. I hurriedly wiped my eyes and opened it.

“Aww you’re so sweet.” I smiled.

Westin aka Wes, (the guy August was talking about) stood at my door with a bouquet of flowers. He was an African-American studies professor at our school, and was absolutely brilliant. Brilliant I tell you.

“Heard about your little break down.” He chuckled a little bit.

“Wanted to make sure you were okay. Whatever you going through you, it’s gonna be okay queen.” He smiled and hugged me.

“Thank you.” I said trying to hold back the tears, but unfortunately, his dress shirt was now wet. “Sorry.” I removed my head from his chest.

“It’s fine. It’s for a good cause. On top of that it will dry.” He sat on the edge of my desk. I sat back in my chair.

“You want to talk about it?” He asked.

I debated in my mind for a minute, then decided against it.

“Not really. I just want to forget it.”

“Fair enough. You look beautiful today by the way.”

“Aww thank you.” I chuckled at his compliments.

I meant every word I said to Tanya. He was absolutely perfect. It was older than me in his mids-40s. And was an absolute gentleman. I learned so much from being around when we had conversations on our lunch break some times.

On top of that, he was extremely attractive.  I never liked bald heads, but baby his, I’d shine it all day.  And looking at him today, I wondered did I miss my ship. Maybe because I was so eager to get in a relationship, I got on the wrong with August.

He looked down at my ring finger.

“You still married or…?”

“I don’t know what I am.” I sighed.

“Not appreciating you?”

“You guessed it.” I sadly said.

“A lot of men do that. Get so comfortable in a relationship, they feel they don’t have to change. Or they change just enough to get you back, then once they get you revert back.”

“You must be a mind-reader.”

“Nah.” He laughed. “Just a man whose been there done that. Took me a divorce to understand that. That’s why I promised the next woman I get, I was going to treat her like the Nubian queen she was. Bowing at her feet every day, and give everything she deserves. Woman is God’s greatest gift to man. If more women knew that, they would treat themselves as such. Instead of acting like, it’s the other way around. He who finds a wife, finds a good thing. The holy writ says. Not she who finds a man.”

Daaaaaaaammmmmmmmnnnnnnnnnnnnn, he was so right. See why he makes me love him.

“Ahh.” I smiled. “If only he knew that.”

“Do what you got to do to make him realize. If that’s leaving, do it. If that’s finding someone who knows your value…” I noticed he gave me a seductive look. “Do what you got to do. You deserve to live a life full of happiness, not strife. You too beautiful and wise for that.”
