It has come to my attention a lot of people don't know this is the third book in the series. While I'm glad you guys can still follow along without being too lost, to get context on Amb and Aug it might be helpful to read the first two books. A lot of the stuff like the anchor symbolism, etc crosses over.

Book 2 - if that's what it takes
Book 3 - life after marriage
