Summary and Trailer

They are alone, in the hall where the golden dragon throne rests mightily up the stairs, on the stage. He is standing on the stairs, on his head is his Emperor's crown where strings of beads dangling from it are swaying gently with each movement he makes. His eyes, so full of sorrow, look at hers through the beads. His legs are restraining his body from approaching her. She stands on the red carpet, in the middle of the hall, looking at him with eyes so lost one could weep simply by staring into them.

"Do you still remember those years?" He asks, his voice is holding back so much pain that has been building up his chest. His question is enough to draw out the tears from her eyes, they roll down her cheeks and one drop falls onto the floor.

"I refuse to remember about them." Her answer is like a thousand knives stabbing right at his heart. He understands her reasons very well, so well that he wishes he does not.

"I, however, cannot stop remembering every single moment that has happened. Every day, every night. I cannot forget."

"Stop." She whispers.

"Stop forcing me to remember the past. The more the memories come back to me, the more I wish I have never entered the palace." Her voice is trembling, her legs are slowly losing their energy but she persists, she does not want to fall.

"Do you...hate me?" He asks. His heart is racing like it has never been before as he awaits her answer. He wants to know, but he is too scared to receive the answer he does not want to hear.

"No." A portion of the burden on his shoulders has been lifted, just by that single answer. He feels so much relief, only for now, because she has more to say, more to break his heart.

"I will never hate you. I will not. If I hate you, I will never forget about the past."

"I-I have never meant for things to turn out this way."

"Yes. You never have. But still, today, you are standing up there."

"So you do blame me for everything."

"No." She pauses to wipe her tears off her face.

"I do not blame you. I promised to not hate you. I just...I have had enough. How I managed to live through those years, those painful times, I...do not want to return anymore." And with that, her fingers dig into her sleeves, and she takes out a dagger, a shiny dagger that seems to have been polished recently. His eyes bulge with the sudden appearance of the dagger, but her next words surprise him even more.

"Please." She pleads, waiting for him to receive the dagger. Her tears are falling endlessly by now. Slowly, he takes his extremely slow steps down the stairs. His steps are heavy, his head is hurting and he feels suffocated in this big and empty hall. They are now standing near, face to face.

So he takes the dagger from her hand.

Life in the palace isn't as simple as it seems to be. No one outside the palace knows about all the drama present in the harsh life of the harem. To many, living inside an imperial palace sounds luxurious. However, one must pay for the price, willingly or not.

"Love In The Palace" is a story that uncovers the all the unspoken drama ever existed in the palace during a period of an unknown dynasty. This story doesn't revolve around the main character only, but revolves around everyone in the palace and how heavily interlinked they are. Introduction will be a little bit slow as there are many main important characters to introduce.
