Chapter Fifteen

"Dem" he murmured, sitting up a little in the tub.

I had been staring down at my hands the last ten minutes. "Yeah?" I don't look up.

"I need you to step out of the room for a minute."

"I'm afraid to leave you..." I bite my lip. I really am worried about him. But I'm also completely confused about what just happened.

"Just for a minute. You don't wanna see or hear this. I might yell, but don't come back in."

I look at him, "What are you gonna do?"

"I'm gonna fix my arm" he won't meet my eyes.

"How d-"

"Just do what I said, Dem" he's a little demanding this time.

I nod, standing up. I'm not so sure about this but I step out, shutting the door. What was he gonna do to fix it? I thought for a second. No.. he wouldn't....

I hear a faint crack, and Justin crying out in pain.

I jump slightly at the sound, my stomach churning.

Another crack, a yell, a groan, a sigh.

"Justin?" I lean against the door.

"I'm fine. You can come back in" he replies out of breath.

I slowly open the door and step in.

His arm is back into place.

"How did you do that?" I gape.

"I have a lot to explain, just wait until later."

I almost want to yell and demand answers now, but I can be patient. I nod.

"Can you get me clothes?" he asks.

I feel my face heat up. I bet I'm blushing tomato red. "Y-yeah, hold on a sec."

I hear him chuckle softly as I walk out of the bathroom.

Damn good looking boys.

I decide its best to just give him something of mine rather than take from anyone who might notice something missing. I go upstairs and dig in my closet. I have plenty of over sized clothes I can lend him. I find a pair of sweats and a tshirt. Not too girly. They look like a guy's clothes. As I'm walking out of my room I get a peak in the mirror. My makeup is smeared, black under my eyes. I curse under my breath and fix it, rubbing it off with my finger.

I put the clothes on the bathroom counter, "You can stand okay, right?"

"Yeah, you can go" I can tell he's a little embarrassed too.

I nod and hurry out, shutting the door.

I sigh.

"My mom is gonna be home soon" I tell Justin. We had been sitting awkwardly on the couch the last hour, both of us pretending to watch television. There's too much to think about to watch tv.

"Alright, I should go" he moves to stand and I stop him.

"You're not going anywhere. You have a lot of explaining to do. We're going upstairs." It's my turn to boss him around. I looked over to see him grinning. I blushed.

"Alright, lead the way" he slowly stands up.

I roll my eyes and lead him upstairs and into my room, shutting the door behind him. "Alright, first of all, if my mom is coming up here, you're hiding. And I don't want excuses. And I want all the answers I ask for, understood?" I sit in the middle of my bed, criss-crossing my legs.

"Whatever you say" he plops down into my desk chair, spinning a little.

"Alright, first of all, why'd you ignore me?" I wanted to know. I've wanted to know. He could've cancelled plans and at least explained, instead of being all 'I can never talk to you again'.

He raised a thick eyebrow, looking at me, "When?"

"When you cancelled out plans then said we could never talk again. Why? We're talking right now and you seem fine with it."

He sighs, "Well, since I promised to be honest, my dad said I couldn't talk to you. He saw me ready to leave the house and stopped me. He was holding a family meeting."

I cross my arms, "Meeting for what?"

"I can't tell you."

I glare at him.

"It's family business."

"Fine," I continue, "explain what I saw. All of it."

He leaned back in the chair, looking uncomfortable now. He ran a hand through his golden brown hair, making it stick up messily. I couldn't help but let my eyes wonder. His cheek bones, his jawline- tight and serious. I could feel my heart flutter in my chest.

"That was me. All along. I'm Wolfy...."

A lump formed in my throat. Everything I had said to him....

"I couldn't tell you. I'm still not suppose to, but I trust you."

Trust? Me?

"After my dad said I couldn't see you... I couldn't help but come back as Wolfy to see you..." his eyes meet mine from across the room.

I just kept watching him, still trying to process it all. "You mean, you turn into a wolf? Or you're a wolf who turned into a guy? Or what?"

"I'm Justin. I'm all human right now. But... I can turn into a wolf...."

"How?"

"It just happens, I dunno" he shrugs.

I sigh heavily.

"I'm sorry."

"Stop saying that" I look down.

"Why?"

"Because it's fine. It's just... hard to understand...."

He nods, "Yeah. It was hard for me to figure out too."

"I bet" I force a laugh, trying to lighten the mood.

He smiles slightly.

We sit there for a minute and I have to think.

"Wait," I remember something, "didn't you say you were coming to my school soon?"

He grins, flashing those perfect teeth, "Next week, I'll be seeing you everyday" he adds a little wink.

I try to calm down my blush, "Oh, cool" I bite my lip. He's gonna see how everyone treats me.

"I should go-"

"Wait, who was the wolf who attacked you?" I ask.

He sighs, "I'm not sure. He's not from around here, though."

I nod.

We hear the door slam downstairs and my mom walking across the floor.
