Something wet touches my face, waking me up. After a second I realize that it's Piper.
"Aww good morning Pipes." I say.
I get out of bed.
"Are you hungry girl?" I ask her.
She barks, her bark is the cutest bark I've ever heard.
I get her off the bed and we both walk to my bathroom where I give her food and water. After she's finished I take her to the backyard to let her go to the bathroom. Then we go back inside and I make myself some breakfast.
I have about a month and two weeks until I go off to college. It's a good thing my college allows pets. After I finish eating I start to get ready for the day.
Then after that I go to Austin's. I get there and go up to Austin's room where he is pacing back and fourth.
"Hey." I say.
Austin jumps.
"Gosh you scared me Sade!" He says.
"Sorry."
"It's fine. You having a good morning?"
I eye him. He seems nervous.
"Yeah...are you okay? You seem kind of nervous." I ask.
"Who me? No, yeah I'm fine." He says.
"You sure?" I ask.
"Mmhm."
He's totally nervous, but why?
"You want to go out to lunch?" I ask.
"Yeah sure."
So we get in my car and head to Olive Garden. On the way there he's licking his lips every once in a while, which is a sign that he is nervous.
We get to the restaurant and get seated.
"Hi I'm Lacy, I'll be serving you today. What can I get you two to drink?"
"Sweet tea please." I say.
"And you sir?" Lacy asks Austin.
But he's zoned out.
"Austin!"
"Huh? What?"
"Drink?" I say.
"Ohh uh, just some water please."
"Okay, I'll have those right out."
She leaves.
"Okay what is up with you?" I ask.
"I told you, I'm fine."
"That's a lie." I say.
"I'm fine." He says again.
I sigh and just look down at the menu to decide what I want to eat. Soon Lacy comes back with our drinks and takes our order. After we get our food and eat we head back to Austin's house. While he goes to his room I find Alex, who is watching tv.
"Alex." I whisper.
"What?"
"Do you know why Austin is being all nervous and stuff?" I ask.
"I have no idea." He says, but his voice goes up high.
That means he's lying.
"You're lying."
"No I'm not." He says, his voice still high.
I give him a look.
He's sighs.
"Sorry Sadie, I'm not allowed to tell you."
"So he is nervous?"
He nods.
"And you know why?"
He nods again.
"But you can't tell me?"
"Nope."
"Ughh. Fine, I'll just go ask Zach and Robert." I say.
"Good luck with that." Alex says.
I roll my eyes and go upstairs to where Zach and Robert are.
"Hey so do you guys know why Austin is acting so weird?" I ask.
They both look at each other.
"You do." I state.
"Yeah...we're not allowed to say anything." Zach says.
"Why not?!"
"Austin's orders."
I start to get mad.
"Why is he keeping things from me? He never keeps things from me." I say.
"When you figure out what it is, you'll understand." Robert says.
"And don't get mad, Austin is already stressed enough." Zach says.
I leave to get some fresh air and cool down a bit. I decide to go to Jamba Juice and get Austin and I a smoothie. Then go back to Austin's house to give him it. I get to Austin's room where he is working on his music again.
"Here." I say, handing him his smoothie.
"Sade you didn't have to-"
"You're obviously nervous and stressed about something, hopefully this will help a bit."
He smiles and gets up and comes over to me.
"Thank you." He says, then leans in and kisses me.
"Now, you want to tell me what you're hiding from me? Because everyone else seems to know something that I don't." I say.
"What did they tell you?" He asks.
"Just that they couldn't tell me why you were acting nervous."
"Good. They're following what I told them. I'm not telling you anything." He says.
"Why? You've never kept things from me before! Why now?"
"It's not like you're never going to find out."
"Okay, then when will I find out?" I ask.
"Soon." He says.
"How soon is soon?"
"Not telling."
"Please!" I say.
"Nope."
"I hate not knowing things, especially when everyone else knows what I want to know." I say.
"Well, deal with it. They aren't going to tell you anything no matter what you do."
I roll my eyes, then turn around and start to leave.
"Sadie wait." Austin says, grabbing my hand.
"Please don't be mad. Just trust me, trust that I can't tell you for a really really good reason." He says.
I sigh and step closer.
"I trust you."
