I turn over in bed and I'm met with a pair of bright, blue eyes. He must have fallen asleep with me last night.
I smile at him and move a piece of his curly hair out from his eyes.

"Hi" I whisper with a morning soaked voice. He leans down and kisses me while pulling me closer.

"Hi" he replies between kisses.
We hear a loud knock on the door and then Effie's high pitched voice.

"Katniss darling, have you seen Peeta?" She asks through the door. "He's not in his room and I've looked every where." I cover my mouth to keep the laughter in. Effie would have a fit if she knew he was in here. She would probably scold me and say how improper it is to sleep in the same bed.

I clear my throat and try to sound sincere. "Oh I don't know Effie. I'll try and find him." I wait for an answer with a smile.

"Oh good. It would be just dreadful if we couldn't find him. We have a big big day ahead of us." The sound of her high heals clicking away is music to my ears. I turn over and resume kissing Peeta.

"There you are!" Effie says with an aggravated face. "Peeta where were you?" She asks. The whole table turns to look at us and I know we have to respond quickly.

"He has a hiding spot, it's a secret place." I tell her. Effie looks convinced, Cinna and Portia are both laughing quietly, and Haymitch looks at us with a "I know where he was" face. I blush and finish my breakfast in silence.

We start out in district 11 and end our huge victory tour in the Capitol. Of course I can't forget the party at the Mayor's house in district 12 either. Why that would be rude if I did, or at least that's what Effie says. I take Peeta's hand and prepare for the doors to open. Thousands of residents of district 11 are right outside, and I know that this will be an emotional district. Rue and Thresh were from here. Peeta squeezes my hand and tries to comfort me.

The doors swing open and I walk out, ready to show the world my love.
Right after we got home from the games President Snow showed up at my house. He told Peeta and me that the districts were rebelling and that if we wanted to be happy, then we are to stop them. They are building a fire that we have to put out. The reason that involves Peeta and me is that they don't believe our love story. No matter how hard Peeta and I try, they think it's a scam. I have to convince them, I have to show them it's real.

I take a deep breath and only now do I realize that Peeta is offering me the microphone. I glance into the crowd and spot Rue's picture hanging next to Thresh's picture.

"I just wanted to say," I take a deep breath and try to calm my nerves. "I wanted to say thank you." I look over at Thresh's family. "Thresh saved my life and I'm forever thankful for that. He could have killed me right next to Clove, but he didn't." I see his grandmother crying and nodding her head. "He was more than just muscle and skill, he had a heart. He had feelings just like us." I take a deep breath and look to Rue's family.

"I like to think of Rue as my friend. She reminded me a lot of my little sister. They were both too young, too innocent. I see her in the meadow and the flowers by my house. I see her in the birds and I see her in the trees. I grew fond of her." I take a deep breath. "I'm sorry I couldn't save her." I finish with a tear falling down my cheek.

The peacekeepers push us back into the building and that is when we hear the gun shot. The door was cracked, but I saw it happen. He whistled the tune and used his three fingers as a goodbye.  I was touched when I saw it, but he died for doing such a simple thing. He died for saying a final goodbye.

I cry into Peeta's arms that night. I can't stop the rebellion, but somehow President Snow thinks I can.

"Peeta," I whisper into the darkness.

"Yeah" he replies. I work up enough courage and let my answer spill.

"What if we don't stop the rebellion, what if we encourage it. We could start an uprising in district 12. It could work, Peeta." The room is dead quiet and I'm worried he's asleep.

"Are you insane! Katniss, we can't do that. They'll kill us and our families." He's right, they'd kill everyone. I sigh and lean into his chest.

"I guess you're right, but if we ran away. Would you come with me?" I ask him.

"If the time came, I don't know if you'd really leave, but if you did then yes I'd come." He kisses my head. "Now go to sleep." He mumbles before turning over in bed. I nod my head, even though he can't see it. Is he right?

Would I stay?

The next 10 districts go by so quickly, it's all a blur. From the beach in 4, the mountains in 2, the forest in 7, and the technology in 3, I'm wore out. Every district has a different demeanor, but only the rich ones are obeying the Capitol. Peeta and I have tried everything, but nothing works. This rebellion was going on long before Peeta and I came along. We just set the spark and made the cannon explode.

"What should we do?" Peeta asks Haymitch "they don't believe our love story." He says. Haymitch takes a swig of his whiskey and thinks about it.

"We could get married." I tell them. Haymitch looks confused and Peeta looks shocked. "It was going to happen eventually, so why not make it happen now." I tell them.

"It was?" Peeta asks looking at me with a puzzled face. I smile at him.

"Yeah," I take his hand in mine.

"It does make a statement." Says Hatmitch, "but are you sure about that. You'll be tied together forever." He looks between the two of us. Peeta looks to me and I know he won't say yes without me. I nod my head and my fate is sealed. I'll be Mrs.Mellark.

"I think the boy is looking for you." Haymitch looks at his glass of scotch and points towards my room. I turn around and open the door.

Peeta is down on one knee.

I close the door behind me and sink down next to him. "Katniss Everdeen, I've been in love with you since the first day of school. When I heard you sing for the first time, my heart melted. You could make the birds stop and listen. Even through the arena and everything else that has been happening, you never left my side. When I lost my leg, I thought for sure that you'd leave me. Who would want to be with a man who isn't whole? You proved me wrong. You not only stayed with me, but you became the piece of me that I lost. If I had to loose 5 more limbs to be with you, I would. Because you would make me feel whole, by saying I love you. I want this to be real, not something for the Capitol. I want to marry you because you make me the happiest man alive." He smiles at me.

"So Katniss Everdeen will you be the missing piece to my life? Will you marry me?" I wipe the tears falling down my cheek.

"Yes." I whisper to him and lean in to kiss him. It's passionate and sweet.

At the moment all I can think about is Peeta. How he didn't want our proposal to be on a talk show, he wanted it to be personal. He wanted it to be sweet, just like him. I may be the missing piece to his life, but he is the missing piece to mine too.

A.N. Guys I am such a mess. I was crying when I was writing the proposal. I loved the idea of Peeta wanting it to be for them and not the Capitol. Anyways star and comment!
