Kyle pulled to a stop in front of my house and turned to me with a sheepish smile.

"Well, that had been fun," he said. I let out a cross between a grunt and a humorless laugh in response.

Right. How fun was that.

Shortly after Colby sped out of the alley's parking lot, Kyle came out and found me just staring into space. He had asked me what was wrong twice before I finally came to. Of course I said nothing was wrong, and though not convinced at all (I could tell), Kyle let me lead him back inside the Bowl-o-Rama. The others had carried on with the game, but it was undeniable that the tension still hung in the air. Cynthia had slumped down on her seat, not even bothering with the game anymore. Her arms were crossed over her chest and there was a slight frown that graced her pretty features. Tyler turned over to me with a raised eyebrow, and Eliza was looking at me with a mixture of concern and confusion on her face. Carl was picking at an invisible lint on his pants as Maya shot me a small, hesitant smile. I puffed my cheeks out and tried to keep myself from stomping my feet. It was childish, but that was what I had felt like doing at that moment.

After saying something in Maya’s ear, Tyler had stood up, stalked toward me and pulled me gently away from the crowd. Once we were out of the earshot, he raised his eyebrows and shot me a look that clearly asked “What the heck was that?” I sighed and pouted. I had not told Tyler anything about Colby, just because I felt there was no need to.  I was convinced that time when I blew up on Colby that he would leave me alone. And I didn't really do heart to heart talks with Tyler that much, if you know what I meant. Plus, Colby wasn’t really a threat to my life, unless you count in panic and heart attacks. And oh, add mental disturbances to the list.

Letting out another sigh, I had then proceeded to tell Tyler what the deal with Colby was. I told him how Colby had been in my hair lately, and how he enjoyed teasing and annoying me. I told him the incident in Susan’s house, when I was babysitting Cam. I also mentioned that somewhat it had gotten better. At least he was not calling me a pedophile or insisting that I had the hots for him. The whole time Tyler listened, nodding at some parts and shaking his head at others. When I finished talking, Ty cocked his head to one side.

“Why didn’t you tell me?”

I stuck my bottom lip out before answering. “I didn’t feel the need to.”

Tyler just nodded at that, and let out a breath. “The guy sounded like a real piece of work, Kayla. Want me to beat him up for ya?" I snorted at that and shook my head. As if Tyler would really do that. He shrugged and continued, "I'm serious!" He then looked at me, concern once again on his face. "It seems like Cynthia’s pretty pissed off. It’s not exactly a secret that she likes Colby, and I think him paying attention to you did not exactly help.”

Just had to roll my eyes at that. As if I didn’t know. I asked Tyler what Cynthia did after Colby and I walked out of the Bowl-o-Rama. I was met with a wince, and I couldn’t help but wince back. I then came to know that Cynthia practically attacked Tyler and Kyle, asking questions as to why Colby was singling me out, and why Colby needed to talk to me. Honestly, I didn’t even know myself why that person had come for me during that time! Why did she have to go all Amazonian warrior on the two? And did she not remember our talk about how I didn’t even want to talk to Colby, much less introduce them to each other? At that thought, I suddenly felt more annoyed (actually I felt my blood boil a little) and I let out a whispered yell. Cynthia might’ve broadcasted to the world that she liked Colby, but it wasn’t right of her to act that way. She acted like a jealous girlfriend, and I guess it was a typical reaction since she really liked the creature. That fact did not make her any less annoying. The look on Tyler’s face told me that he shared my sentiment.
