*This is super long. Sorrryyyy

Charlie's POV

Whatever, he can go for all I care. Like I said, he's a grown man and he can make his own decisions.

Am I lying? One thousand percent yes. Of course I'd love for him to be driving me and the kids to see my dad; to see the two of them bonding as well. But I can't ask that of him, knowing how he is. He shuts down very easily, and I know while he's not been saying it, the last place he wants to be is around my dying father given the history with his parents.

I wasn't joking either, when I said he deserves a night out since he's constantly with the kids- one can only take so much of two toddlers.

I just really fricking wish it wasn't her- why her? Why does he have to go and celebrate her birthday? It could have literally been anyone else (well, maybe not anyone), but it just had to be her birthday. Something about her rubs me the wrong way, and she certainly didn't make a good impression.

And my other problem (to add on to the list), is that I know he's going to be tempted to drink. This is what worries me the most of all the things that could potentially happen tonight. I don't think he'll cheat or do anything like that, but he might slip up and have a shot or ten, and become a totally different person. And I can't deal with that on top of everything else.

And from what I've seen of the lovely Genevieve, I know she'll just egg him on and try to sink her filthy slut claws into him.

I let my head fall back into the headrest of the backseat of a taxi cab as we make our way to the hospital. Li's head rests in my one side and Marley's bouncing in his seat on my other side, trying his best to look out the window. He's been so excited to see my dad recently and I'm just so grateful that they've been able to form this bond.

We left after Zayn stormed upstairs to get ready to go I guess. And much to my disappointment, he hasn't tried to call me or anything. I don't know what I was expecting (okay so I'm lying again, cause I definitely wanted him to decide to stay with me, despite knowing how selfish that is.)

My phone chimes in my pocket, and I'm too quick to fish it out.

What are your plans for the evening, lady?

I try to bite back the disappointment.

Visiting my dad in the hospital

From: Eleanor

Oh, right. I'm sorry, Harry told me about it.

I'm so sorry Charlie

Let me know if you need anything

:)

From: Charlie

Thanks, I will

:)

I shove my green 5C back into my pocket, not waiting for a response. Part of me thinks she was asking because she was tipped off about Zayn's whereabouts.

Yes, I still have the same phone from a million years ago (we know my history with that.) I am long overdue for an upgrade and this one's starting to run crappy again (I've had it fixed a number of times rather than cave and get something new, because why?) But now I think I'll get a new one...the Rose gold 6s Plus. Whenever I get around to it, of course.
