Laura's POV

I studied Ross's face. He looked like he had been crying. Did he miss me or something?

"Are you okay?" I asked.

He didn't answer. He just pushed me off of him and ran away. I chased after him and pinned him to the ground again.

"Let me go!" he said.

"Did you miss me?"

"Isn't the answer obvious?"

"Well I'm hoping for a yes."

"Get off me!"

"Answer my question first."

"No!"

"No you're not going to answer or no you don't miss me?"

"No I don't miss you!"

"Then why do you look like you've been crying?"

"Because my wife is dying!"

Everything suddenly started turning red when the word "wife" came out of his mouth. I saw a fire that wasn't actually there.

"Your wife?"

"Yeah. I'd explain everything but it's a long story."

"We both have forever to talk."

"Let me go!"

"No!"

He struggled to get away but I had a good grip on him. After an hour he finally stopped struggling.

"I give up," he said.

"Good."

I smiled at the thought that now I could make him mine again.
