Ross's POV

Did she have to remember the monster? I wished that she hadn't. I knew it couldn't hurt her now but I still couldn't forgive myself for getting her pregnant with that beast.

"Ross?"

"What?"

"I asked you where the baby is."

I didn't want to answer because I knew what her reaction would be if I told her that we were going to murder the monster before it could hurt anyone else.

"Asleep," I lied.

"You're lying."

"No I'm not."

"Yes you are."

"No I'm not."

"Yes you are. I can see it in your eyes."

It eventually got to the point where I had to tell her the truth. It just suddenly exploded out of me. She looked shocked, in pain, and like she was on the verge of tears. I wished I could take it back. Hurting Courtney was the last thing I would ever want to do. Ever.
