A/N: hello readers ^.^ so, I will be updating my stories during the weekend to make it quicker and less annoying than waiting for ages XD sry for those people who got a little pissed off, it won't happen again. But that aside, before you read this chapter, take a minute of silence to pay respects to the victims of the Paris Bombings and attacks that occurred over the night, any french readers here my heart goes out to you all and I hope you are doing ok. It was a heartless attack done by people with no souls and they've just pissed the world off 😡 I may not be French, but I'm still pissed.

A few hours later, Harry, a team of S.W.A.T agents, Noah and Detective Steele were in Noah's SUV, driving towards the Canadian Boarder, heading towards where Anna was reportedly being held by Samuels, Vancouver. Harry was sat in the front seat next to Noah, who was driving, and was drowning in his thoughts.

*flashback*
After they had gathered the information on Anna's location, Harry and the team raced out of the building, leaving Nate to Harry's and Anna's parents. Before Harry left, he had held his son in his arms for perhaps the last time. Samuels was never the one to surrender, he must have something up his sleeve. No matter what, Harry was going to get Anna out of there safe, and let this baby grow up with a mother. He saw the tears in his mother's eyes begging him to be careful, then saw the tears in Carol and Will's eyes, longing for their daughter to be returned to them safe. Carol hugged Harry tightly, "Please. Please bring my baby back to me." She sobbed.
Harry tightened his embrace around her, "I will, I promise you. I'll never leave her side for a second again. She'll be back to you in no time. Trust me." He said softly. Carol nodded, believing his promise as Will wrapped his arms around his wife while she sobbed into his chest with Lizzie and Alan comforting them both.
*flashback ends*

The image of her distraught parents was burned into his memory, causing more adrenaline to pump through his veins as they sped down the highway towards the boarder.

They had been driving for over 2 hours, and Harry was growing more impatient. Noah glanced over to his friend every once in awhile to see his glare getting worse and worse every time. He glanced back into the rearview mirror, "Anything back from your HQ?" He asked Steele. He shook his head as he checked his phone, "Nothing. But our time limit is almost up, better step on it boy."
"How long do we have?" Harry growled softly. Steele looked at him then to Noah's eyes in the mirror for reassurance. He nodded and the detective sighed, "Just under 3 hours."
Harry's fist tightened and looked to Noah, but before he could speak, his best friend read his mind and doubled his speed. Harry glanced at him gratefully and Noah nodded, "She'll be ok, I know she will."
Harry remained silent, fear pulsing through him as his thoughts kept on being dragged back to Anna laying on the floor and being kicked around. It broke him into pieces to hear her whisper his name so weakly and so desperately. If only he hadn't stayed down in the living room to do some work. If only he had been in that room with her the night she was taken away. He could've done something sooner, stopped him maybe... But he couldn't. He was too powerless to protect the woman he loved.
"It's not your fault." Noah's voice interrupted his thoughts.
Harry looked at him as if he had grown another head, "Really?! I wasn't there for her when she needed me. When he broke into that house and took her away. If I hadn't stayed up to do that damn paperwork, Anna would still be here, we could have caught Trent and Malcolm would still be alive!"
Noah stiffened at the mention of Malcolm's name. It was still a soft spot for all of them. Harry sighed and sat back, "I'm sorry."
"It's fine." Noah said softly. Silence fell over the two of them as the drive continued. After a while, Noah finally spoke, "He was gonna be a father too you know."
Harry turned to him, "Huh?"
"Malcolm. His girlfriend found out she was expecting just before he died. She was going to tell the next morning, but she didn't get the chance."
Harry looked down, "I see. How is she doing?"
"A little better. Bennett's been with her through the whole thing, giving her a shoulder to cry on and taking care of her and the baby." He then glanced to Harry seriously, "That baby is going to grow up not knowing his father. Don't let the same thing happen to Nate."
Harry looked away from Noah, he was right, but there was no promise that he would come out of there alive, especially if it was Trent he was facing.

A/N: another done. I know its shorter than usual but thats the point ^.^ don't hate me. See you guys next weekend <3
