My Life Quote: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

As a writer:

I usually get inspiration from unusual places: dreams and experiences, words from friends, thoughts that spring out of struggle, and my desire to see people find healing and hope.

I write best during times of quiet when I'm apart from others and left to go inside myself, where I am free to let the words that burn within my heart spill out for others to read.My writing style is poetic, artistic, mystical, powerful, insightful and humorous. I like to let words dance on the page, to flow like a gentle stream or a raging river, to move the reader to release their emotions and lose themselves within the story. For those who would like to start writing, my message is listen to the calling inside yourself, connect to the Source, the Word from whom all life comes and find your own voice and let the words out.

Writing tips:

First, take the "rules" and expectations of what others think is good writing and put them next to what is in your heart so that you can give them perspective. Let your writing reflect your heart, your passion, your inner voice. Don't worry about getting followers or votes or good comments. Ask God to give you the words to write, the story to share and the strength to see each story through to the end.  Write about what excites you or even what keeps you up at night - whatever burns inside that you need to get out. Certainly work on your writing skills by writing. Don't be afraid to experiment with different styles and perspectives and subjects. Write things that are noble, good, wondrous and beautiful. Take the struggles in your life and turn them around in your writing. Don't write to shock or titillate or make yourself appear better than you are. Write to share your story with others and to join with their stories. In that connection, there is freedom, peace and incredible joy!
