a/n: here we go!! finally ready for those regular updates and I will be spamming with those requests so please send your requests in :)))))) so much love

(y/bff/n) - your bff's name

"No, I'm too busy, I have to study!" You pleaded as your roommate, (Y/BFF/N), pulled out different outfits for you to wear. She was adamant that you left the dorm and went to an uber cool party for this band. She barely mentioned that some guy from her lab class was in the band before she attempted to allure you with all the potential hotties at the gig.

"(Y/N), we both know you study too hard! It's time to have some fun besides I need a sober partner!" She spun you in your chair and knelt down to your level. "Pleeaasssseeee," she stretched out until you stopped her with a small 'yes'.

She jumped out of her skin and proceeded in picking you and outfit. She knew you preferred your tame style, anything too wild didn't usually suit you. She laid out a sequinned top and a black mini skirt for you as she turned around and closed her eyes.

The top hung nicely over your chest and the skirt showed off one of your biggest assets. Not too revealing, not to modest you thought for your night out. (Y/BFF/N) was right, you needed a study break before your mind would explode.

"Fabulous! Alright let's go!" She jumped up and down in her four inch heels, laced her hand in your and pulled you out. A few other girls were going so you all travelled together. The event was off campus and was held at your quaint cafe that you had barely recognised as they revamped the space for the event. Your usual barista was at the bar, serving drinks other than coffee and lattes.

"How cool is this?" (Y/BFF/N) tugged on your hand as you both stood struck by the light display. You both watched as a buff man took to the stage commanding everyone's attention.

"Thanks for coming out tonight, we are Slow Kids at Play!" He spoke loud while the rest of his band came on the stage.

"Which one is in your lab class?" You questioned as you individually examined each boy on stage.

"The bassist! He's even cuter now that I know he's in a band." She bit her lip as she gazed over at him using her eyes as her best flirting technique.

"So you like the rhythm section?" She didn't hear you as the band began to play. You checked out the drummer anyway and glad you did.

You couldn't make out his eyes very clearly but the lights radiated off his jawline and bounced off his electric arms as he played the drum. He had so much expression on his face and focussed and played with all his heart.

The songs were catchy, you couldn't help but admit. You already knew the words to the chorus and began singing along with the band.

I can't wait all night for you,

So tell me what to do

The set continued for two more rad tracks. The next was a cover followed by another original. They put a unique spin on "I Want it That Way" by The Backstreet Boys that made you eager to download it on iTunes.

"Thank-you for coming out, we were the Slow Kids at Play! We love you guys!" Their main man shouted again before they all left the stage.

"How amazing was that? I had no idea he was so talented!" (Y/BFF/N) practically screamed in your face as a consequence of ringing ears.

"It was rad!" You said as you made the Westside hand gesture. She just laughed in your face before leaving to get a drink.

The night carried on and the music kept playing. There weren't any more live bands, but the Billboard Top 100 played on in the background through high tech speakers that looked very expensive.

Your feet grew sore from standing all night even though you only wore your cute flats. You excused yourself from the little group you had been dancing in to take a seat by the bar.

"Just a water, I'm the sober buddy." You tried to explain before the waiter took interest in someone else.

"Too bad it's only water, I was going to buy you a drink." A voice chirped up beside you, startling you for a moment as you juggled your water. "Woah, sorry." The voice giggled slight as you composed yourself.

"No that's fine." It was the drummer. Alert, alert! "You can pay for my water." You tried to be charming and flirtatious, not your usual skills.

"I would but water is free." You were thankful for the dull lights masking your blush, of course water is free. "What should I do to get your name? I'd hand you my phone to get your number, but I couldn't wait to talk to the girl with amazing dance moves." You wanted to spit out your water.

"My dance moves?" You questioned. His eyes were brown you noted as he didn't take them off of you.

"Yeah. While my band was playing our set, I couldn't help but notice your smooth moves." He grinned.

"What can I say really? Three years of ballroom dancing is paying off." You joked, you were coordinated but that didn't mean you could dance.

"Well you'll have to teach me some moves," he smiled and laughed along with you.

"I'm (Y/N), by the way." You whipped your hand out for a shake.

"I'm Dylan the drummer." He shook your hand firmly, holding on for a moment too long.

"Do you always introduce yourself that way?"

"Only when I want to impress a beautiful girl."

And as they say, the rest is history.
