"It doesn't have to be this way," he's standing across from you, gently holding onto your finger tips.

"Dylan..." you breathe, desperately trying not to cry. "We can't keep doing this. It's not... it's not working." You're scared to look into his eyes.

"Don't I make you happy?" He pulls you closer and runs his palm over your cheek.

"Of course you do. No-one makes me happier than you," you mimic his actions following your hand over his smooth shirt as well.

"Why do we have to do this then? Why can't we just keep going?" His eyes become glassy as he quietly sniffles.

Had you of known that your job was going to take you to London and that you would be stuck for there for after 8 months, you wouldn't have taken it. At first, you thought it was just a business trip until they offered you a position that even Dylan knew you couldn't refuse. The job you always wanted, the life you always dreamt of with the man of your dreams 5,000 miles away.

"I don't like knowing your back here waiting for me... and I hate not coming home to you."

"The movie is almost finished, I will come out to you!" You're scared he is going to drop to his knees and physically beg you.

"Come," you grip his hand tighter than you have ever and lead him to what used to be your shared bedroom. You motion for him to sit as you pull out some papers from his underwear draw.

"Look at all these offers, Dylan," his face drops as you hand him the scripts he was trying to hide from you. "Your life is here, you can't move."

He places the scripts aside while you fold your arms across your chest.

"There will be something for me in London. I will find something to do." He reaches out for your hand again as if he is reaching out for his last hope.

"Nothing this good, Dylan," you sit beside the pile of papers. "I mean, look! Spiderman? Star Wars? Dylan, Han Solo is literally your dream role and think of your career!"

He's silent for a moment as he plays with the ring on your hand.

"You will find somebody else," you whisper among the silence.

"I don't want anyone else."

"You need somebody else, Dylan. Somebody who is here so you can celebrate these amazing roles with." You move closer to him and he wraps his arms around you. "Somebody who you can come home to everyday and somebody who can bring you coffee on set or visit you lunch."

"I'll never find anyone like you," he speaks softly as he combs his hand through your hair.

"That's the point, Dyl," you sigh.

"But I love you."

"Dylan, I love you too." You stop trying to fight the tears. "You know what they say... it's because I love you-

"-that you have to let me go."

You stay together as he continues to comb through your hair. You're enjoying the intimacy, just resting in his arms like you have before. His warmth is radiating and you consider never leaving, but you know that its time to say goodbye.
