a/n: i'm so sorry this took me almost two months! I hoped I surprised you, please enjoy and let me know what you think, Karro! please remember to share around, comment and like :)))) loving all of the support

"Why can't I go home?" You pleaded with your best friend. You had been out since 11 in the morning and you needed to be home studying for your exams in the following week. Originally the two of you were just supposed to go out to mini golf and you had, but next thing you knew, Jade had you running around the city as she ran some errands which included picking up new bath bombs from Lush, visiting her sisters new place and trying the new Mexican place for lunch.

"Karro, can't I just want to spend some time with my best friend? Besides, you need to get out of that stuffy apartment." She spoke as her hair whipped around in the wind. You had lost the car in the parking lot, perfect you thought.

"Why do you have some weird grudge against my apartment?" She walked ahead of you, almost fooling you as genuinely concerned for the whereabouts of her car. "Okay, stop kidding around where is it?"

"I swear we parked right here," she waved her hands around in a general area. You rolled your eyes, she was obviously plotting to keep you out. "Karro, I'm not joking around here."

"What do you mean?" You watched as Jade's eyes bulged in fear as she started panicking, hastily searching the distance she could see. "Where's the car?"

"Oh my gosh, someone stole my car!" She dropped her bags in defeat, running her free hands through her hair repeatedly in attempt to calm herself down. "Karro, someone stole me car!" She repeated, shouting in the car park. "What are we going to do?"

You tried to stay calm as your best friend was having a fit. "Okay, okay, well first we need to just calm down." You lead her in some deep breaths and you both revelled in silence as you collected your thoughts. "Okay, we just need to go to cops and report it and then they'll take it from there." She nodded and eventually you both trudged your way to the police station.

The sliding doors opened before you revealing the somewhat calm police, filling out paperwork and sitting by their desks. You were thankful that it didn't seem so hectic, maybe they'd be able to find your car faster.

"Hello ladies, how can we assist you?" A woman with a friendly smile and blue police uniform greeted you from her front desk.

You pulled Jade along to the desk. "We would like to report a stolen car."

"I think I can handle this, Jordan." A voice piped up, making you jump. You threw your hand to your heart as you regained your sanity. You slowly took in the sight in front of you. A man in his mid-20s stood drinking from a mug in a snug police uniform. His name tag read "O'Brien", but his demeanour read "hottie".

"Well then ladies, I guess I'll leave you with Officer O'Brien," she nodded you off and you followed behind the officer as he weaved through tables to what must've been his desk.

You sat by his desk and talked about the car. You took the lead as Jade sat quietly, internally screaming that she had lost her car, but also too focused on not saying anything idiotic to the hot cop.

"Well thank you, Karro isn't it?" He finished signing a document before looking directly into your wide eyes.

"Yeah, but thank you Office O'Brien," he initiated a hand shake.

"I'm Dylan." His smile stretched out along his face. "So, I'll be calling you as soon as I hear anything." You nodded in approval, eager for the car to be found just to hear his voice again.

"Well, Dylan, if you find the car tonight, don't be a stranger," Jade nudged him, "we're having a party tonight and you are more than welcome to come," her voice was silky smooth as you analysed her obvious flirting technique.

"Can I organise to give you a lift somewhere?" At this point Dylan seemed a bit nervous, playing with his fingers, barely maintaining straight eye contact. You just nodded. "Well, my car is just this way." He picked up some keys and glided back through the office, waving goodbye to Jordan as he passed who just shook her head.

The car ride was smooth. He asked why the reason for a party and you left that to Jade who quickly diverted the topic of conversation, considering you weren't even having a party. He was fascinated about the topics you had chosen to study at university and even told you that he had regretted not going, but he did enjoy his job a lot.

You arrived and said your goodbyes and watched him off. Jade's smile grew as you gradually approached your apartment. By now it was six thirty in the evening and you were feeling more than ready to call it a night. Jade smile soon turned creepy as you jiggled your keys in your apartment door with a suspicious look.

"Surprise!" A chorus of voices sounded from your dark apartment as you swung the door open. "Happy birthday Karro!" Your roommate ran up to you and grasped you in a hug.

"What?" You turned to Jade, who looks more than proud with herself. It turned out that they wanted to plan you a surprise party the weekend before your birthday so it would really be a surprise. You were sent to your room to quickly change into an outfit that had been laid out for you before you ran back out into your transformed living room.

You made your way around the room, thanking all the people that had turned up. A few strangers were in the mix, but you assumed someone had known them. You had plastered on a generic smile as some people had stopped you to start talking about some of your embarrassing moments.

"I'm going to grab a drink," you raised your voice over the loud music, trying to escape listening to another friend who you only saw twice a year, your birthday and theirs.

You headed straight for the door, escaping the chaos. Of course you were grateful, but the adventure you had had today should have been met with sleep rather than head banging music.

"Karro?" A familiar voice drew your attention as you raised your head from your fatal position.

"Dylan?"

"Surprise!" He had changed from his uniform and handed you some flowers. "Is the party out here?" He joked, sitting by your side.

"It was too tame for me," you joked back, cradling the flowers in your arms.

"Thats a nice dress, I'd hate for it to go to waste, just being paraded around the halls," he had clearly upped his game.

"Maybe a bit later, I'm just catching my breath."

"Well, I meant we could grab dinner. Just the two of us?" You thought you were dreaming, but he held his hand out to you and offered the way.
