The news you hadn't realised you would be dreading. The air had been knocked out of you with a single phone call. You had to consider yourself lucky to have even been called, but were you even allowed to see him. You should have been in that car with him, you should have been there and maybe, just maybe, things would have been different.

You blamed yourself, a petty little argument had made you go home rather than to Stiles' after school. You should have gone to his house to study, been there when he got the call from Scott and gotten in the car with him. He never should have been alone but you let things get in the way and now where was he? Unconscious in a hospital bed from a car crash involving his precious jeep.

Tears streamed down your face and you couldn't stop the flow although your thoughts were consumed with the worst possible outcomes. It was lucky that Melissa worked at the hospital and would allow visitors other than family, otherwise it would practically be torture having to be apart for another second especially in his condition.

You wanted to be by his side, holding his hand until he woke. You wanted to there when he woke up, the first to greet him, the first face he saw. You hoped he wouldn't mind as well.

You leaped from your position at your desk, leaving your school books scattered around the table, too busy to be bothered to pack up. You stole your keys from their usual position and escaped through the door. The tears continued on the ride to the hospital and you were constantly wiping away the salty liquid from your face. Your breath was caught in your throat as you considered all of the possible injuries he could have had. You had been given little information, but enough to know it was something serious.

Entering the hospital was a blur, there were people everywhere. You had to blink away tears as you tried to focus yourself in the surroundings.

"Y/N," the voice was relieved to see you as they cradled you in their arms. Melissa pulled her body away from yours and wiped some tears from your face. "Come with me," she wrapped her hands in yours and lead you through. Melissa was explaining why the hospital was so busy, something about a school prac or something.

She turned back to you before leading you through the door with an apologetic look. As soon as you saw him your feet carried you to him and you stood by his side, softly holding his hand in yours.

"I'll leave you alone," Melissa spoke as she let the door close behind her.

You pulled a chair by his side and reached out for his hand again. You couldn't help the solemn tears that steamed down your face. He had a bandage around his head and a cast over his leg which had been lift in the air.

"Stiles," you breathed, your head falling by his side.

Some time had passed and you had not even realised. You had fallen asleep in the chair with you head laid on the hospital bed. You were woken by a soft voice, a calling for your name.

You sight was blurry as you started to wake up. "Hmm," you answered.

"(Y/N), did you sleep well?"

"Stiles," you piped up at the sound of his voice and turned your head on the bed to face his. "I was so worried about you."

"I'm sorry, (Y/N)." His voice was sweet and soft as he ran his free hand through your hair. "Come up here with me." He slid over to the side and patted the place next to his side.

You slid up, pushing your body and instantly falling into his side. You felt his flinched underneath you, but he quickly assured you he was okay. "Please don't do that again." You said referring to the car crash.

"I promise, babe." He continued to run a hand through you hair. You played with his fingers by your hand, revelling in the proximity and gentle touch.

Silence was evident in the room, but it was comfortable. You both just enjoyed the company and relaxed in each other's arms.

"What happened to my jeep?" He whispered. You caught yourself giggling and shaking your head before you both resumed your tired slumber.
