Two Reflections (Alren)

Chapter 4

I made my way to the stage feeling nervous and excited at the same time.

I grabbed the microphone.

"So...I'm Lauren...I'm 19...and I'm gonna sing If I ain't got you by Alicia Keys"

I closed my eyes and felt my whole body shaking. My right hand was holding the mic and I was trembling.

I was gonna sing out the first note when I decided to open my eyes and started singing. I tried to find Ally; and there she was, smiling at me as she promised.

I couldn't help but smile like an idiot because having my eyes locked with hers made all my fears vanished.

I went on and the audience started to cheer me up, Ally got on her feet to clap at me. I could tell she was feeling it.

"Lauren that's how you do it" Brian said. "That was seriously great, one of the greatest auditions I've ever seen"

"Thanks" My eyes became glassy.

"I'm seriously impressed. I feel everything has changed because of you" Nicole added.

"Thank you so much" I smiled widely and couldn't help but get so emotional.

I went down the stage and Ally's arms were wide open waiting for me. I squeezed her as tight as I could and let a few tears out.

"You are amazing, honey" she whispered in my ear. "You are the best, I knew it"

"Thank you, Ally...you were my biggest support"

"I need to breath" Ally chuckled and I pulled off not wanting to hurt such a precious little thing.

"You are amazing, babe" she wiped out my tears. "I feel emotional too. That was beautiful" She said with glassy eyes.

"I had a huge connection with you....it's crazy" I told her squeezing her hands.

"I know. I felt like if you were singing to me" She giggled.

"Well, in a way I was" I told her and hugged her again.

"You two get a room" Normani rolled her eyes.

"They already have one" Dinah added and make all of us chuckle.

I was actually singing to Ally because I was looking at her, but it felt like I was really putting my heart out on the lyrics and singing them to her.

It's not like I just only need her in this world, I met her yesterday, but for this couple of days it felt like it.

After the auditions we got to our rooms. We were going to change clothes and decide a plan for later on.

I rolled up in my bed and stretched.

"So you are the teachers' pet, Ally" I said. "You had it secretly hidden"

"I'm not" She whined. "I just happen to go to the same church as Brian"

"Yep....and Nicole thinks as you as her mini me" Mani added giggling.

"You're their favorite....C'mon the say you are a star" Dinah pointed out.

"That's because she is" I winked at Ally. She happened to sing as she was one of the most brilliant students.

"Seriously, you girls were amazing...but Ally...wooow....you just blew me away. You've got one of the best voices I've ever heard" I said complimenting her with honesty.

"I can say the same of you" She smiled at me. "I'm positive all of you are gonna get scholarships...fingers crossed" Ally said as crossing her fingers.
