I stand at the front of my high school taking deep breaths.
It didn't actually hit me till now that this was my first day of high school.
"Beep-beep".
My dad honks the horn while my mom makes frantic hand gestures towards the door.
I can do this,I say in my head.I am 14 years old.I am smart and friendly. I will survive.
I begin to make my way up the stairs.
As soon as I get inside a smiling brunette points towards the auditorium where freshman orientation is being held.
I quickly take my seat.
The orientation is 2 hours long and extremely boring.
After it is finished we are told to get our schedules and I see my best friend,Roger.
"Lily"!he says
I give him a hug and we compare our schedule.
We have no classes together.
"Don't worry,I'll see you around in the hallway".I assure him
We make our way towards our classes.
The rest of the day went by fast.The usual stuff was said on the first day.
Nobody really stood out except for a light browned haired boy that I almost bumped into.
At 2:30 when the bell rung,I looked for Roger.
We decide to walk together since I live close to the school and a bus stop.He tells me about his first day while I tell him about mine.
Pretty soon we're at my house.We say goodbye to each other and I go inside my house.
I open the back door and walk inside.
"I'm home"I yell.
"Hey Lily"my mother says.
My dad comes in and asks my mother to help him put on his tie.
He's a manager of a car company and has to dress up for his job.
They ask me about my first day and I tell them about it.
After I'm done I quickly go to my room, to call my best friend Nina.I wanted to tell her about my first day.
She ended up going to a different school than me but,we promised we would still be best friends even though we went to different schools.
When I finished, I grabbed the latest book that I was reading and spent most of the day reading it.
By the time I finished eating dinner and taking a shower,I'm exhausted.
I go to sleep thinking my first day wasn't that bad.
