"So what did you want to tell me?" Luke says after we have breakfast at his place and went back to his room

"Okay, give me one short second" I leave the room quickly and knock on Jack's door. I gotta get the acceptance letter.

"Oh, hey sis-in-law" he greets me with a bright smile

"Sheffield's letter, can I have it?" I ask him

"I thought we weren't telling him" he scracthed his beard confused

"Yeah, shit happened and I'll tell him" I keep it short

"Don't you want me to deliver the news?" He frown his brows

"No need, there're some other things I'd like to tell him as well so I can handle this"

He nods and gets the letter handing it to me

"Just make sure he feels happy bout this" he says holding the other end of the envelope "He's got to go, Liza"

I nod assuring him I'll handle it well. When I got back to Luke's room he was strumming his guitar

"Hey, let's sit here for a bit" I sit at the edge of his bed and tap the mattress next to me so he can sit

"Okay, you're scaring me" he put his guitar down and headed my way "Wait, if this is a break up talk, get ready for lots of manly tears" he let go a playful smile

"I hope we don't get to that" I mutter under my breath, not knowing if he listened to me "Kay, so after I debated a lot in my mind about my life, you and this life I want us to have together, I" the words start to flow but soon they stop and I stare the carpet floor

"You what?" He encourages me to keep going

"I decided that I can't keep things from you so I'll tell you everything I've been hiding" I run a hand through my hair

"Okay, but I'm sure it won't be that bad" he rubs my hand

"Please keep that in mind" I smile and take a deep breath "Jack showed me this yesterday" I hand him the letter "I took the liberty to open it, hope you don't mind"

He takes the paper with a sad look in his eyes debating with himself whether he'll open it or not. He stared the stationary flipping the envelope back and forth then he handed it back to me

"I won't go" he says with a sad glimpse in his voice

"But Luke you got in-"

"There is no fucking way I'll leave my mum like this, she's broken hearted and what? The first thing I'll do is move an ocean away from her?" I know he's happy cause he got in but there's this sourness in his tone

Jack was right, Luke's sense of loyalty is bigger than prioritizing his own happiness

"Your mom has your brothers and Kira, she won't be alone" I try to look into his eyes but he keeps avoiding my glance "She wants you to be happy"
