Chapter Nineteen

"Vartika meri baat toh suno" i kept on iterating all the while she meticulously escorted me to the doctor's cabin, but she was in no mood to listen to me, in no time we found ourselves in the doctor's cabin waiting for him,

"di, yeh sab ka zaroorat kya hai? Let me go, she's alone there" i said, she said nothing, but i noticed few tear drops trickling down her face as she rolled her eyes at me desperately, 

"di..." i squeezed her hand! 

"vardhaan! Stop being kid! If you don't stay silent! am telling you, i'll slap you now!" she said with trembling voice, pointing her finger at me, i fell silent and hung my head low i don't know why but tears started rolling down my cheeks.! Moments later, the doctor entered in to the cabin, busily checking some reports,

"so,how are you mr.vardhaan, ?" he asked taking his seat,

"fine," i mumbled not even trying to look at him, i just didn't feel like, i just wanted to run away from there, run to niharika and so badly wanted to talk to her, i wondered Why they were not believing my words about niharika. i tried to tell them..but before i could say some thing my di, began to speak

"sir, niharika ka operation..." her voice trailed off because of tears

"scheduled this afternoon" he said leaning back in his chair

"will she be okay?" vartika asked clearing her throat.

"major clots has to be removed,but she's hasn't gained her senses back yet,," he twitched his lips desperately, the signs of pessimism was clearly visible in his face,, i was listening to him in silence all the whilst with my gaze stuck to floor, but not anymore, 

"di," i squeezed her hand again, and she turned to face me.

"did you get that vardhan? at least now?" her voice was still quivering

"he is lying" i muttered and it irked her!

"vardhaan! Stop being kid and try to understand. NIHARIKA IS NOT FINE! SHE IS NOT OKAY!" she emphasized and paused to breathe "we are not lying, it's you!! You are living in the false world, open your eyes! Can't you see! She's lying on that bed senseless! From 6 days, and underwent 3 surgeries, still few major clots in her brain has to be removed and her ribs has to be fixed, and they are going to operate on her once again! she is not even in sense! She is not fine vardhaan, she is not!" vartika broke down and began to cry bitterly. even then, it's nothing like a truth and then why are they reiterating it! It annoyed me.. 

"aarghh! Enough di! Enough of you! Ye sab jooth, you are lying! you all are! She is fine and i know that" i pushed all the files and medicines on the table in front of me, screaming at them!

"vardhaan! Stop this madness!" she stood up and began to walk me out, asking an apology to the doctor, i walked silently all the while she made me walk back to my room.
