Hermione returned home and realized that it was 8 pm already.
"Dinner, honey?" Mrs. Granger asked.
"No, thanks mom. I met a ... a ... well, friend on my way back, and we had ice cream, so ... no." She hurried upstairs, to her room, and took off her beaded bag. She wondered why she didn't tell her mother about Draco. After all, she had told her mother all the horrid things he had done to her as a child.
She thought it better for her parents to not know.
And she had a bag full of enormous things that she had to sort out.

Ron thought about Hermione as he lay in bed.
"Harry?" He said into the darkness.
"What's up?" Harry muttered in response.
"I was wondering whether we should visit Hermione tomorrow." He expressed.
"But we just met today. And you got engaged to her a week ago. What's so urgent?"
"She wrote another letter to me after dinner. She said she wanted to tell us something very important."
"I wonder what that would be."
There was a pause.
"What did you say in reply?" Harry asked.
"I told her that we'll meet in the Muggle café two streets away from her home, ten thirty." He said.
"Okay." Harry said. There was no more from Ron.Probably deep in his own thoughts. Harry thought to himself.

Hermione was awoken by a loud noise at her window. The clock read 9:15 am.
As she got out of bed, the window got tapped on again.
She slowly opened her window and saw a fine grey eagle owl. It was the most beautiful owl she had ever seen, with bright yellow eyes, and dark grey feathers streaked with white and black. It had a letter tied to it's foot.
She untied the letter and the owl sat there patiently. She walked towards her cupboard and took out some owl treats she had recently brought from Hogsmeade. The owl nibbled at the cookie, meanwhile, Hermione read the letter,Granger,
Now that we're 'frenemies'... that's what the Muggles say, right? We should meet up more often, and now that we're returning to Hogwarts, I'm excited to spend some time with you. And, damn are these Muggles spreading way more, was fast, or is it just me? They leave no place for you to disapparate.
Looking forward to seeing you at King Cross Station on September the first, on the Hogwarts Express!
Draco Malfoy.
Hermione gave a snort of laughter. Unbelievable! Draco Malfoy wants to spend time with me? No way! She took out her parchment and wrote,
Malfoy,
I was surprised to hear from you, and I can't help but wonder how despite all the losses the Battle of Hogwarts brought, how much it has changed for the better too. And then again, nothing's impossible. Looking forward to meet you on September the first.
Hermione Granger.
She tied it to the owl's leg, and it flew off into the horizon.

"Hermione! Here!" Harry waved at her. Hermione finally caught sight of the two men she loved the most, walking over to them and sitting opposite to Ron.
"Everything okay, Hermione?" Ron asked without greeting her.
"Yeah. Let me breath, Ronald." Hermione said as she relaxed against her chair.
"I got the letter. I am officially an Auror now!" Harry announced.
"That's amazing! Congratulations!" Hermione and Ron both burst out.
Ron eyed Hermione, concern in his eyes.
"I wanted to tell you both I met up with Draco."
Ron's eyes opened so wide, Hermione thought that they were going to pop out of his sockets. "Draco? As in ... Draco Malfoy?" Harry asked.
"How many other Dracos do you know?" Hermione laughed.
"WHAT! Holy Merlin..." Ron blurted.
"Yeah. And he's changed." Hermione replied casually.
"Mione, we just can't trust Malfoy." Harry tried to explain calmly.
"He trusted me, and I will trust him." She said.
"HERMIONE! HOW CAN YOU EVER EVEN TALK TO A MAN WHO TORTURED YOU YOUR ENTIRE LIFE?!" Ron said angrily.
"He apologized to me. And he's justified to apologize, isn't he? And I forgave him. That is up to me whether I forgive him not."
"Hermione, you're absolutely right. It's over, isn't it? Draco won't be after you anymore." Harry asked.
"I can be friends with him if I want, right?"
Hermione stood up, and Ron said, "I knew he would play with you like that. He's using you!"
"I am not a toy that he's playing with me, neither am I a tissue which he can use. I have a brain that I can think for myself. What can he possibly use me for now?"
She walked away, leaving Ron and Harry speechless, watching her leave.Did Ron and Harry react the way you expected them to? Let me know about your thoughts in the comments!
