Short Story 34: My Beating Heart (read the note plz!)

Okay, I know what ur thinking. "Aliiii! Lemme reaaad!" But hear me out. I just wanted to let you know that; YES. This is an actual thing people can be born with, and YES there is surgery to fix it. What am I talking about perhaps? A person that has their heart beating out of their chest. Look it up on YouTube, there are two girls who have it. "Oh, Lucinaa~!" Peach said sweetly, making, Lucina turn to face her. "Yes?" Lucina asked, only now noticing that it wasn't just, Peach, but almost all of the girls in the mansion. So basically about six girls. "We're all going to the beach and we wanted to know if you'd wanna come!" Peach said, a bright smile now on her face. Lucina knew that when the pink princess said something like that, she wasn't exactly asking you. It was more like she was telling you. Despite, Peach's grin, Lucina's face was dull and emotionless. "No thank you, princess." Lucina said, turning down the offer and getting many sad- "aww"'s from a few girls behind, Peach. "Oh, come on! It'll be fun!" Peach said, hoping to get a yes this time. "I'd honestly just rather stay at the mansion." "Lucinaaa!" And once again, the ancestor of the hero kind kept her face blank (and they colored all over her like in Fnac... I'm horrible.) "bull mushroom! You're going!" Peach said, a hint of sass (2 IN ONE FNAC2 REFERENCE DEAL) now in her voice. "I still must turn your offer down, Peach." Lucina said, turning around and starting to walk away. "Why!" "I have my reasons." "So why can't you show us your reasons?" Rosalina asked, playing with the purple Luma by her side. Lucina slowed her walking for a second, but then went back to her normal pace once she figured out what her answer was. "Because, I'd much rather keep my reasons to myself." "But why can't you just-" peach was cut off by a voice that made, Lucina jump out of her skin. "Girls, if she says she has her reasons, she has her reasons." Peach huffed. "Okay.. Sorry for bugging you,
Lucy.." Peach said. "It was not a bother. It is alright." Lucina said, not turning around, to show her red face. Luckily, her best friend, Zelda could sense, Lucina's uncomfortableness. "... Uh, hey, let's go paint our nails girls!" Zelda said, clapping her hands together. Peach squealed and grabbed, Rosalina's hand before running down the hall to her room to get the polish. Zelda turned around and winked at her blue-haired friend, as Lucina mouthed a thank you to her. Lucina then turned around and continued on her way to outside the mansion. "Uh, wait! Lucina!" Lucina turned around to see, Robin was running towards her. The male Robin, of course. She wasn't as close to, Reflet-Aka female Robin-as she was to her male counterpart. "Yes?" Lucina asked, slightly cocking her head. Robin finally caught up to her and smiled. "Adorable.." "Uh.. W-where are you going?" Robin asked, feeling his face heat up. "To the woods. I go there when I'm stressed." Lucina said, turning around once again and started to walk, as Robin did the same by her side. "C-could I come w-with? Uh.. For protection of course!" Lucina chuckled. "Sure."

"... It's a dead end." Robin said as he stopped at what he thought was a rock covered in vines. He turned around and started to walk away, until he realized, Lucina wasn't following him. He turned around to see she was staring at the vines. "Uh... Lucina?" It actually started to creep him out. "Lucina, are you co-" Robin was cut off by, Lucina running towards the vines, and then disappearing. "LUCINA!" Robin yelled. But instead of any blood splatters or screams, he heard a sigh of relief. "... Lucina?" Robin went towards the vines, and touched them, expecting to be supported by the rock, but instead falling over and onto something... Or someone. "Ah... Ouch.." Robin opened his eyes, to see he was on top of, Lucina. "Uwaaah! I-I'm sorrryyyyy!!!" Robin yelled as he quickly got off of her and onto his knees. "I-it's alright.." Lucina said, got getting up yet. "Uh.. Are you alright..?" Robin asked. Her breathing was a bit quicker than normal. "Y-yes.." "Then.. Why aren't you getting up?" Robin asked, again. "I.. Just would like to stay down here awhile." Lucina said, still carrying the emotionless face she always carried... No.. Robin saw something different. A glisten of pain, and worry in her eye. "I... Don't think you are... Are you sure you're okay..?" Lucina waited a second before finally sitting up and answering his question. "I'm alright, Robin." "Uh okay... H-here allow me to help you!" Robin said, getting up and holding his hand out. Lucina was hesitant at first, but then took his hand. She was lighter than, Robin expected, which lead her to crash into him and then slightly yell out in pain. "Lucina!?" Robin said worried as she clutched her chest, still leaning on him. "I-... I'm fine..." Lucina said, pushing herself off of him. "I don't believe you, Lucina." Robin said stubbornly. Lucina shot a glare at him for a second. "I.. Still don't believe you." Robin said, not at all fazed by her glare of death. Lucina sighed. "Alright then." "So are you going to tell me what's wrong?" "There is nothing wrong." "Lucina..!" Lucina looked over at the tactician, a slight bit shocked at his voice being raised. "There is something wrong! Why else would you act like you were in pain!? Did you want attention?!" "No! I-" "Well then what is wrong!?" Lucina now had tears in her eyes, although she'd never cry in front of others. She sighed in frustration before looking at him. Robin looked mad, yet also worried at the same time. "... Close your eyes.." "What!?" "Just do it!" Robin sighed and did what she told him to do. He heard the noise of grass being walked on, or something being thrown onto the grass, before he finally was told to open his eyes. "... Alright.." He opened his eyes to see, Lucina wasn't facing him, and she was in a white camisole that was underneath her armor. She turned her head to slightly see him, and then fully turned around. "W-what is that!?" Robin yelled, only realizing how rude it was until after he said it. Lucina shot a glare at him. "... It's my heart." "Oh.. That's why it's moving?" "... Yes.." She didn't even bother to look him in the eye. "That's why you declined their request.. Isn't it.." His voice was closer than before, and softer as well. Lucina looked up, only to be met by shock, as he was standing right in front of her... Smiling. "Well.. I guess it just another thing to add to the list of things I love about, Lucina!" Robin said. Lucina was now extremely flustered. "W-what!?" "Mmhm! 1: She's a sweetheart! 2: She's really pretty! 3: She makes good pies like her mom! 4: She makes me pies sometimes! 5: I can hug her whenever I want! Like a portable teddy bear! 6: if I need to cry, she lets me!" The list went on and on, until he got to the last one. "And 273: Her beating heart." Robin said, smiling softly at her. "My.. Beating.. Heart......" "Mmhm! And I think it's beautiful." Lucina stared directly at his eyes, expecting to find a glint of either, pity, or disgust, but found none. Tears welled up in her eyes once again. "... Truly?" Robin nodded with a shut eye smile, until Lucina wrapped her arms around him tightly, balling the back of his coat into her fists. ".. Thank you.." "Oh! I forgot One!" Robin said. "Oh..?" Lucina said, looking up at him with her arms still wrapped around his torso, her blush growing by the millisecond. "274: I LOVE HER!" Lucina's eyes widened in shock, but they soon calmed back to her normal face, and she smiled. "I... I love you too, Robin..." "You do!? Oh those are the sweetest words I've ever heard!" Lucina let out a small laugh at his remark, but quickly stopped when he kissed her forehead. He pulled back and smiled.

"Has anyone ever told you that you smell like a candy store?"
"Uh.. No? Why would they?"
