The hosts were surrounding one body, a puddle of blood spreading through their feet and dripping down the sidewalk. I stumbled across the cement, fighting to see who it was.

I could barely see over someone's shoulder.

Prologue

Alaria Mae's life is completely turned upside down and shattered as a long list of tragedies come before her. First, her father drowns next to her. Second, her mother becomes alchoholic and abuses her. Third, she is rejected by Kyoya Ootori. Fourth, her mother commits suicide. Fifth, a host takes a bullet for her. Sixth, the murderer of the host escapes.

As grief and depression take over her life, Alaria fights to find the person who killed the Host, and struggles to find where her heart is, and who she is.
