" I'm so dead." I thought. I look around my cage, trying to find something to get me out. Earlier today, I was minding my own business, walking along the beach. I love taking pictures of the ocean and sea life. In my hometown it is known that merpeople live in our ocean. But we don't know much about them or if they were even real.
While I was walking on the shoreline, I accidentally cut my foot with a broken beer bottle. I cried out in pain as I sat down on the wet sand, taking out the glass shards out of my foot. My blood slowly went into the waves of the sea. Suddenly, I hear something hissing. I look up to see two merpeople, a female and male. Their skin was scaly and moist looking. I looked at them, their eyes black and soulless. They opened their mouths, revealing endless rows of sharp fangs.
My stomach had a sinking feeling as the fish people approached me. I jump up to run away, but the merman grabbed my injured foot. He pulled me down, I choked on the sea water until they bit me. The last thing I saw was the beach growing farther and farther away from me.
Now I'm in cave. Th walls dark and full of corpses of both human and fish. It wasn't till I heard the shrill screams of another human that I learned that merpeople eat us.
Feeling scared, but also in rage I thrash around in my cage. There's no way they were going to eat me next. My eyes frantically search all around me for something to break the lock of the cage. I see a rock that is just about to fall from the cliff next to my cage. I put one of my arms through the hole of the cage and reach with all my strength. Once I reach it, I go the lock and hit it with the rock. It finally breaks and I fall into the water below me. With out warning I breath in water but surprisingly don't choke on it.
" This is strange." I thought as I swim to find a way out.
" And where do you think you're going?" A nascal voice questions. I turn to see the same merman who kidnapped me with a sword fish in his grip.
" Leaving. You're not going to eat me." I reply. He throw his head back in high pitch laughter.
" You're pathetic. Of course we'll eat you." He states as he summons more merpeople around me. I grow tense and anxious, I have to get out of here.
" Let her go!" A strong male voice calls out. I look up to see another merman. He didn't have the soulless eyes, but deep brown ones. His hair to his jaw, almost black.
" Don't get in our way Jeonghan!" The annoying voice of the killer merman hisses.
'Jeonghan' grabs his sword fish and starts to slash through and cut some of the merpeople who surrounds me. The ugly fish people's eyes widen as the watch the blood whisp through the water.
" Food." They cry. Jeonghan grabs my wrist, pulling me away from the merciless feeding of the others. I look up at the handsome merman, though I can't stop from feeling slightly scared.
" You aren't going to eat me are you?" I ask panicky. He laughs, not a creepy laugh but a nicer, soothing laugh.
" No. Those idiots have been eating humans for generations. That's why they don't look human anymore. I'm taking you up to the surface. I'm Jeonghan by the way. But you probably already knew that from those morons." Jeonghan said.
" I'm Y/N. Why can I breath underwater?" I ask him.
" You were probably bit by one of the other merpeople. Their venom causes humans to breath underwater before they have to be killed." He explains. I nod and stay silent as until we reach the surface.
Once up, I walk onto the sand.
"Thank you so much for saving me back there." I said as Jeonghan gives me the most angelic smile I've ever seen.
" No problem."
" Well...I guess I better go." I said running my fingers through my wet hair. I turn to leave.
" Wait Y/N." Jeonghan starts.
" Yeah?" I turn to face him.
" You don't suppose we could meet again sometime? With out the life or death situation?" Jeonghan asks his pale face slightly red. I grin, feeling my cheeks start to burn.
"Sure, when?"
" Maybe Saturday? We'll meet up right here?" He asks again with a hopeful look on his face.
"Sure! It's a date!"
