The water gleamed in the sunlight. Xena and Gabrielle were in the deepest part of the river.
"Remember how I taught you. Wiggle your fingers like bait."
"I got one!"
Gabrielle laughs as she pulls a large fish from the water and throws it to shore. Xena smiles, watching Gabrielle's face light up as she pulls another fish from the water.
"Who knew this could be so much fun?"
Later they lie by the fire intertwined, memorizing every part of each other. Their souls rejoined as one.
