"By who?" asked Leo. Annie smacked him upside the head.

"By whom," she corrected him.

Blackjack didn't really think it was necessary. Who cares about perfect grammar when someone had announced someone else had been kidnapped?

Leo, probably thinking along the same lines as Blackjack, glared at her, rubbing his head. "Ugh, fine. By whom."

Frank shrugged helplessly, a look of hopelessness plastered across his face.

"Well, how do you know she was kidnapped? She could've just left you for a better guy, you know," said Leo.

Once again, he was smacked on the head. This time, by Annie, Jason and Piper.

Frank–Blackjack didn't think it was possible–looked even more miserable than before.

"We should tell Chiron," Jason suggested, leading the other demigods towards the Big House.
By this time, Blackjack had forgotten all about the memory of the little girl, whom he'd wanted to ask Chiron about.

Instead, he spread his wings, ran a few steps, and took off. Maybe the boss had something to do with the kidnapping of this Hazel girl. If he did, Blackjack was even more determined to find him.

He didn't know Frank very well, but he'd looked so miserable, the pegasus couldn't help but feel sorry for him.

He flew to the boss's apartment building, thinking his mom and stepdad were most likely worried sick about him.

He had to land on the roof of the building to avoid being seen by any mortals. Hopefully, the Mist would work in his favour while he headed down the stairs.

Thankfully, pretty much everyone who lived in the building took the elevator, and the few people he encountered stared at his legs and muttered to themselves, "How on Earth did a dog get up here?" before moving on with their lives.

When he reached the boss's apartment, he knocked on the door with his hoof. He heard hurried shuffling sounds, and the door swung open.

The boss's stepdad, Paul stood in the doorway, looking around the hall before his eyes finally landed on Blackjack's legs.

He crouched down, a warm smile on his face. "Well, hey, there, little fella." He reached out a hand with two fingers extended and made a scratching motion with his fingers.

Blackjack could see Sally trying to suppress her laughter behind Paul.

"Paul," she called.

"Yeah, Sally?" said the man who was currently scratching the air.

"That's not what you think it is."

"What?"

"It's a pegasus, Paul."

The man instantly jerked his hand back and looked up at Blackjack's face. Or where he assumed the pegasus's face was. His eyes ended up about a foot above and a couple feet to the right of where it really was.

"Come in, Blackjack. Percy's told us a lot about you," Sally invited.

The pegasus obliged, noticing a plate of blue cookies on the coffee table. A trail of blue crumbs led into the bathroom.

Sally watched quietly as Blackjack followed the trail and kicked open the door, which, in the hurry, was left ajar.

Inside the bathroom, Blackjack found the boss, a half-eaten blue cookie in each of his hands.

The blue cookies have arrived in the book! Yeah! Oh, Sally and Paul, too. No, I didn't forget them. No, I didn't forget about the Mist. Yes, Percy was eating blue cookies in the bathroom.
