What She Has Forgotten

Chapter Thirty-five:

Rey's POV ~ ~

I put James's little coat on and grabbed his bag and went downstairs.  
"Ok Poe, we are all set here." I handed him James and the bag. "Take care and have fun."

"I'm gonna have fun, he's my babe magnet." I laughed at him and went to get me list.

The door bell went off. I walked to the door and answered it. Ben. Ben was there holding flowers.

"Ben, what... what are you doing here? "

"I came to see you, since you have been working really hard." He gave me the flowers. I hugged him. But it didn't feel the same. He smiled at me, studied my face then frowned.
"You don't look excited to see me."

"No.no. I am. I'm just having a hard time processing this." He grabbed my face and kissed me.

"So, I have to go down to San Diego, do you want to come with me? "

"Oh, I can't I actually was about to run some errands. "

"Oh, I'll be back tonight, dinner?"

"Yes, that would be lovely." He smiled and walked away.

"See you tonight! " He said as he got into his car. I went upstairs and got my list.

Ben's POV - -

"She's not coming with? " Hux asked.

"Nope, errands. " I turned on the car when Rey walked out. I pulled out of her drive way and headed to Phasma's job for Hux.

Gwen's reaction was more what I wanted Rey's to be. She hugged both of us and showed us many pictures. One of her with a cute little baby.

"Who's the kid? "

"Oh, him, he is some..  kid I,and sometimes Rey, babysit."

"Oh, okay, well I gotta go, I'll see you tonight. " I walked out and drove to San Diego,  alone.
