Fast & Strong Pt. 3
(Barry x Reader)

The next day, you started training with The Flash's team. They were surprised as to what you could do, and you were sort of surprised, too. You knew you could see, hear, and smell things far away and pick up heavy things, but who knew about all the other things your powers could leverage you to do? Caitlin and Cisco were very excited to see your abilities, too. Barry was often there to see you during his work breaks, but you took a leave of absence from your job. Cisco and Caitlin decided it was best for you, and thought that maybe they were right about this.

One night, they invited you back for Barry's nightly routine of patrolling Central City and saving the day. You agreed, very excited to see the superhero Barry in action.

"Hey, Y/N," Barry said, stopping into STAR Labs with a skid, "I wasn't expecting to see you here."

"They invited me to watch you save the day," you grinned, leaning over on the main desk.

"Oh, really?" Barry smiled, "Well, aren't you in for a treat?" You laughed, shaking your head at the strange guy.

"Well, she might not be," Cisco mumbled from his computer. "Crime rate is low tonight. Unless you want to go save a cat in a tree at Central City Park-" before he could finish, Barry was gone.

"What a hero," Cisco chuckled, leaning back in his chair. He looked over at you, offering a small smile. "I'm sorry for the way I first acted the other day, Y/N. It was all just so strange. But, anyway, I'm very excited to get to work with you."

"Thank you," you said, "It's okay, about yesterday. I was sort of freaked out. Well, I still sort of am freaked out."

"I can imagine," Cisco nodded.

"But I'm excited to work with you guys, too," You grinned, "It all feels so unreal."

A gust of wind filled the room, and Barry was standing there with a grin in his Flash suit. "What feels so unreal?"

"Knowing The Flash," you answered, "The Flash knowing I'm also a metahuman." You shrugged. What could you do?

"It's unreal for me, too," Barry laughed, "A pretty girl passing out in a coffee shop to wake up being stronger than anyone I know."

You blushed, pushing a strand of hair behind your hair. How was it fair that Barry was smart, cute, charming, and The Flash? It was like he was perfect, standing there, smiling at you.

"So," Barry said, tilting his head, "I've seen your abilities in action. Would you like to see mine?"

"I've seen you running around the street before," you joked, rolling your eyes.

"But that's not the full effect," he shook his head. He stepped closer, and the world seemed to disappear. "Can I... show you?"

"Um. I guess so," you shrugged.

"You'll like it," Cisco piped up. You smiled over at him, and he was grinning at you.

"Alright," you agreed. In less than a second, Barry had swooped you up in his arms, and was off. You snuggled your head into his chest to avoid the harshness of the wind. He stopped suddenly, and you knew your hair must've been a complete mess.

"We're here," Barry said softly. He dropped you gently, helping you catch your balance. "How was it?"

You blinked hard, a laugh escaping your mouth. "Fun," you mumbled, leaning into Barry's chest again, a little dizzy. "It was a lot of fun. How do you get used to that?"

Barry laughed in return, "How do you get used to being incredibly strong?" He put his hands on your shoulders, steadying you. Then he turned you around, so your back was to him.

You were standing on a roof top, STAR Labs glowing in the distance down the road. You breathed in sharply, amazed at how far he'd taken you in just a few seconds. "Wow," you smiled, taking a step towards the edge. Barry's hands dropped for your shoulders, letting you go.

"I like to come here when I have time," Barry said, his warm breath on your neck. "I thought you might like it."

"I do," you nodded. You turned around, your face coming inches from Barry's. Your faces softened as your eyes met. "Thank you. For everything. For bringing me here, for saving me at STAR Labs."

"Saving you?" Barry asked. Your breath mingled in the small space between you, sending shivers down your spine.

"I was alone." You muttered, "I didn't know anyone like me."

"I understand," Barry nodded, "It's great to know someone like me, too." You both chuckled softly. You looked over your shoulder again, taking in the beautiful view of the night. You turned to watch it, feeling one of Barry's arms wrap around your shoulders. "Don't get too close to the edge, Y/N."

"I have feeling even if I did there'd be someone there to catch me," you replied, looking over at Barry's friendly, sweet smile. He had taken off his hood now, revealing his handsome face.

"You know," Barry whispered, "I was going to ask you out back at Jitters before you sort of passed out, found out my secret identity, and then ended up having superpowers of your own." Your eyes widened in surprise, smirking over at the speedster.

"Oh, really?" You teased, "And now?"

Barry brought his face closer to yours, "Now I want to ask you out even more. What do you say, Y/N? Dinner Saturday night?"

You shimmied out of Barry's grasp, standing in front of him. "I would love that," you answered. "I really would." You nodded eagerly, watching as Barry's lips turned into a smile.

"Great," Barry answered, leaning forward. He placed his lips on your forehead softly, and then leaned back. "Would you like to head back?"

"No," you shook your head, leaning into Barry's chest again, "I like it up here." You looked over at the city, feeling Barry's arms around you.

"Me, too," he sighed, pulling you closer.

"I can't thank you enough," you whispered.

You felt him kiss your head softly, wanting to melt in his arms. "Same goes for me. I think we're going to make an excellent team."
