Wyatt's POV

Buong araw ko na hindi nakita si Dominique pagkatapos ng pinagusapan namin. Ang dami kong tanong sa isip. At ngayon mukhang alam ko kung sinu-sino ang tatanungin

Dumiretso ako sa Bar La Marina. Nadatnan kong nagkakasiyahan si Ai, Hunter, at Sebastian. Mag-isa nanaman sa sulok si Gavin. Nauna akong napansin ni Ai.

"Why do you have that look on your face bro?" Kung makapagsalita ito ngayon parang tagakanto lang. Gone is the princess we all grew up with.

"I just discovered something Ai." Seryoso kong sabi. Dahil doon ay natahimik ang mga kaibigan ko at napukaw ko ang atensiyon nila.

"What is it Wyatt?" tanong naman ni Sebastian.

"Nabuntis pala si Dominique noon."

Tinignan ko sila at wala man lang bumakas na pagkagulat sa mga mukha nila. Could it be...?

"You knew everything right?"

Nagtinginan muna ang mga ito bago dahan-dahang tumango.

"Fu*k! You guys knew it all along?!" Bakit hindi pinaalam sa akin ng mga ito na buntis si Dominique?!

"Hindi ka naman nagtanong eh." sabi ni Hunter.

"Do I have to? I could have saved my son!"

"So you are blaming us is that it?" tanong ni Ai na nakatayo na at nakapameywang na ngayon. "Kung hindi ka umalis at tinakasan ang nangyari di sana kasama mo ang anak mo ngayon. Do you even think it's fair to blame other people of your faults?"

"That's basically the reason why you went away, Wyatt. We didn't tell you anything because it would not help you to forget everything." sabi ni Gavin na tumabi kay Ai.

"Bro, hindi nga namin sinabi sa iyo but we made sure na may Dominique ka pang babalikan," sabi ni Sebastian.

Ininom ko ng diretso ang baso ng whiskey doon. Damn!

"I-I just don't know what to do now. Fu*k it!"

"The first thing to do now is to clarify what you thought happened years ago bro. Alamin mo kung siya ang gold digger na inaakala mo. And we think you know the best person to ask that from."

Napaisip ako....si Mama!

Kinuha ko ang susi ng sasakyan at nagmaneho pauwi. Of course si Mama ang may alam ng lahat.

Nang pumasok ako sa bahay ay nagulat pa ang mga kasambahay.

"Where's Mom?"

"Nasa library p-po S-Sir."

Tinakbo ko paakyat ang library at hinananap ito.

Nakita ko itong nakaharap sa mataas na bintana.

"Mom."

Hindi ako nilingon nito. "Hmmm...you surprised me anak. What is it?"

"You knew Dominique was pregnant right?"

Noon ako nilingon nito. "So you know it now, huh? I thought you will never figure it out."

"Why did you not tell me? Pati sila Ai hindi sinabi sa akin. All of you are keeping me in the dark all these years!" I can feel the anger inside me and it is nearing it's boiling point.

"Because son, it is not our story to tell. Besides, I gave you a test that she passed, you didn't. You thought she was a gold digger because of what you saw. But what really happened? She returned the money to me and told me she will fight for you."

Nung nakita ko nga ito at sa Mama ay inakala kong pinagpalit ako nito noon sa pera. I'm not a fan of gold diggers kaya nadala ako ng galit ko noon. I broke up with her. Bedded different women just to forget her. And finally to move away and go abroad. If he stayed a minute longer their lives might now be how it is now. Damn.

"I liked her for you son. Hanggang ngayon actually. You know why?" Umupo si Mama sa sofa na malapit sa bintana.

"I never loved your father nor did he love me. You know, arranged marriage does not always turn out the way soap operas do. He was in a relationship when we got married. During our marriage, he fought for her and I let him go. Ako? I was scared to fight for the love of my life. I left him and didn't even fight for our love. And that would be my biggest regret. Kaya gusto ko si Dominique kasi may lakas siyang ipaglaban ka. And for me? I think that is the best person I can entrust my son to."

Napailing na lang ako. My mother's right. I was the one who failed. I didn't trust her.

"I don't know what to do now."

Lumapit sa akin si Mama at hinaplos ang balikat ko. "Take her back anak. Do everything you can. You still have a chance at love anak. If you still love her, then fight for her. It's your turn now, Wyatt."
