So what is the Great Barrier Reef?

"The Great Barrier Reef, off the coast of Queensland in northeastern Australia, is the largest living thing on earth, and even visible from outer space. The 2,300m-long ecosystem comprises thousands of reefs and hundreds of islands made of over 600 types of hard and soft coral. It's home to countless species of colorful fish, mollusks and starfish, plus turtles, dolphins and sharks." -Google

2 days ago, scientists announced it DEAD from climate change and ocean acidification.

In 1981, there was a bleaching incident, causing toxic and turning the coral white.

There is, of course, global warming as well. The oceans are absorbing for carbon from the heat, causing acidic waters.
