"There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle."

Dev POV

"What's going on?" I said as heard sounds of machines and what seemed to be someone crying.

Things were kind of blurry but I could hear my momma's voice. I continued to listen to what's around me because it seemed my vision wasn't gonna get better any time soon. I then heard a phone ringing but no one answered it.

I couldn't help but wonder what the hell was going on or where the hell am I? I Also wanted to know what tf was this beeping noise that I keep hearing.

My vision eventually cleared up and I realized I was in a hospital room. I glanced around the room to find my momma talking to a doctor and Ania crying in a corner.

"Momma?" I spoke but it's like she couldn't hear me so I decided to speak louder.

"MOMMA WHATS GOING ON?" Immediately my momma turned around with tears running down her face and she quickly wrapped her eyes arms around me squeezing me and Ania was on the other side if me doing the same thing. I tried to hug them back but it's like my arms were too heavy to even lift. And on top of that I was still clueless as to what was going on.

"Ma Are you home tell me what's going on?"

"My baby boy is finally back!!" She said while squeezing me again. I had no idea what she was talking bout.

I looked over to Ania who looked beautiful as always but I couldn't help but notice her rubbing her belly. I looked down at her belly to see that she was way more pregnant than she was yesterday.

"Damn it happens that fast" I thought to myself. This gotta be some kind of crazy dream.

Ania and my mom wouldn't let me go until the doctor told them to leave the room for a little while He talked to me.

"Devontay can you tell me your full name and birthday" the doctor asked me.

"Yes sir, Devontay K Williams born on April 24th, 1994"

"Good Good"

"Are you gonna tell me what's going on yet?"

"Devontay you have been in a coma for the past 7 months due to a car crash on March 18th, 2013 and today is November 22nd, 2013."

I didn't know what to say so I just laid there in shock. I couldn't believe it 7 whole months that I missed out.

I couldn't help but think of that day on the beach.

*** FLASHBACK ***

"Ania I know we haven't been together that long but I can honestly say I love you." Ania looked at me with the biggest smile on her face then she wrapped her arms around my neck as I held her by her waist.

"Dev I love you too and I can't explain how you make me feel."

We both then laid in the sand and I looked over to Ania.

"Our baby is gonna be lucky to have to parents that love each other." Ania began rubbing her stomach.

"He sure is!"

"It's gonna be a girl so she is and I promise to be here with you through this pregnancy" I said as I kissed her stomach.

*** FLASHBACK OVER ***

I hated feeling as if I broke my promise.

"Can you feel this?" the doctor said while tapping on my leg.

"Yes Sir. When can I go home?"

"Maybe tomorrow morning just so we can make sure everything is functioning right. You woke up right in time you'll be home for thanksgiving."

I smiled even though I honestly felt kinda down.

************

The next morning I woke up to the sound of Tasia screaming my name.

"OMG I'm so glad you're finally woke I missed you so much Dev and I have so much to tell you." I couldn't help but smile because I never seen Tasia so happy to see me.

"Yooooo chilll hahahaha" I said to Tasia while laughing. She laughed and gave me a really tight hug.

"Dev you don't understand how much I've missed you"

The doctor then walked in

"alright Dev you've been cleared to go here's yours clothes and a jacket your mom brought for you. you can go ahead and get dressed well be waiting for you outside." As him and Tasia left the room I quickly put on my clothes I couldn't wait to hug my mom and hold Ania in my arms.

As I walked out the room it felt as if I was walking into a whole new world. I walked into the waiting room to see my fam stand there screaming and some shedding tears.

I gave them all hugs and told them how much I appreciated them being there for me. I then looked over to Ania who was just getting off the phone. I walked over to her and gave her the tightest hug ever then I looked in her eyes.

"Ania look I know I haven't been here through this pregnancy like I said I would but I promise I will be here through the rest of it and I also promise to be the best daddy I can be to my ...." I waited for Ania to tell me what we were having.

She looked at me with the biggest smile on her face.

"Your daughter!" I began smiling hella hard and giving Ania hella kisses.

"I told you we were having a girl"

"Yea yea yea" Ania said while laughing.

I then got to my knees rubbing Ania's belly and kissing it.

"Daddy loves you baby girl" I whispered to her belly.

"Dev get off the floor" I hear my momma say

I get up laughing then ask if we can go get something to eat.

"Of course we can it's what ever you want" my dad says while putting his arm around my shoulder.

"Alright then let's go"

" To laugh often and love much; to win the respect of intelligent persons and the affection of children; to earn the approbation of honest citizens and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to give of one's self; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived-this is to have succeeded."
