The whole day has been about eventless, I went to the field with Dad for breakfast, ran all the way back just from hearing a twig snap. Wondered around the same old paths I take when im bored. Blah blah blah, oh! Hello.. I looked over another nearby field, filled with a bunch of other Deer. I didn't really have any friends; maybe just maybe I can make a new friend. I smiled, running down to the field. Walking through the grassy plans, some of them began to move away. Not like when it's a normal human, they KNOW what I am, they just don't like me. I then felt something touching my leg. I spun around, seeing a young fawn sniffing at me. I jumped down, trying to signal play. The fawn hopped back in surprise, but followed my lead. I smiled, knowing I have succeeded. I ran with the young deer chasing me, then spinning around and chased the fawn back. I laughed; I never get to play with the other fawns! I can run just as fast as them and jump just as high; it's what I inherited from my Father. I was having so much fun until It was put to a halt. I froze, I was in someone's shadow. My eyes slowly wondered up, seeing another big buck in front of me. He wasn't as big as my dad, but was still huge. He didn't seem happy that I was playing with must be his off spring. I gave a nervous smile, carefully backing away. I ran! Running and running, never looking back. I ran back into the forest on the way back home, until I bumped into something. I fell down onto my butt. Normally I would just run into a tree, but this thing felt softer. I looked back up.

"Oh! Fawn, are you okay?" Eli held a hand out to me.

I nodded. "Yeah yeah, I think I'm fine." I stared at his hand, not so sure if I should trust him or not.

"It's okay." He assured me. I looked him up and down before hesitantly grabbing onto his hand. I yelped when I was quickly back onto my feet.

"Why were you running?" He looked back into the direction I had came from.

"Um..? Just running back from a buck that may hate me even more now."

"They don't like you?" He asked, curiously.

"Well, they don't accept me. They sometimes tolerate me but they just don't want me around them much. Or playing with their off springs." I looked down, sadly.

"Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. Well you have me to talk to!" He exclaimed, trying to make me feel better.

I chuckled slightly, smiling. "Yeah.." We took a seat onto a log.

"So. Do you live in like a den, or under some half fallen tree or-"

"A den." I cut him off. "It's really not as bad as you would think. It's really nice; it beats just living under the roots of a tree. Some deer do." I told him. "Where do you live?"

He laughed. "A house?"

"What are those like? I've.. Never really been in one before."

"I guess you can put it as, it's like a den. But has a bunch of rooms and and has electricity."

"What's electricity?" I was becoming intrigued in learning what all the stuff he has, what THEY have.

"Um, it's what gives us power. So we can run different stuff, like microwaves, televisions, etc." He explained.

"What's a telo-vision?" I tried to pronounce it but apparently failed when he started laughing at me.
