Chapter 6- Trying
*Cat’s POV*
I can’t believe I agreed to this- playing Sandy! Every time I have to call him Danny I just want to cry. But I don’t, I can’t; it’s stupid and pathetic; no matter what happens, the show must go on. I was wrong about Eoin though…the second time, I don’t know about the first, but the second I was wrong, I over reacted. I mean his girlfriend is a bitch, and he does joke about me, but they are light-hearted really and he means no harm by them, he seems to be the same with everyone. It’s been about two weeks and we are already roughly going through the script. Rachel- the boss/leader/director-is lovely, if a little bossy, but then keeping everyone in order would be impossible without being a little bossy every now and again.
“Fifteen minutes and then we will go through scene 1 again!” She calls as we all being to drift off to the sides of the room for a well-earned rest.
“I’m starving, I think I will pop over the road and get a sandwich or something; want anything?” I say to Sally and she nodded.
“Umm yeh please, tuna if they have it, thanks.” She says.
“No problem.” I say before leaving the small theatre and crossing the road to where the little corner shop sits.
Who would have thought one small shop could have such a long que? It took me ten whole minutes to buy two sandwiches! Ten! Seriously, what is the world coming to!? I sigh as I cross the road again and head back to the theatre. Just before I enter the building though, something catches my eye. “Eoin?” I say as I see him leaning against the wall, a firm frown on his face, a lit cigarette in his mouth. He looks up at me and takes the cigarette out and nods. “Hi.” He says in a forced cheery voice.
“What’s wrong?” I ask and he shrugs, taking a drag of the cigarette.
“Me and Erin had a row.” Is all his says and I have to force myself not to correct his grammar as I can see he really isn’t in the mood.
“Oh…” I say, not really sure if I should just leave it or press further, but then, he makes the decision for me.
“She is just so clingy! I have been trying to break it for ages but she just won’t let me! She was a drunken one night stand after a party two months ago…and apparently that one night still isn’t over! She just won’t let me out! All this about being Rachel’s bloody half-niece so she can apparently get me fired etc.! Ugh I’m just sick of it! She is pretty, but that’s all, she is just eye candy! Fucking manipulative eye candy!” He sighs as he finished his little rant and suddenly looks ashamed. “Sorry.” He says heavily, bringing the cigarette back to his lips.
“It’s fine.” I say and he nods a little.
“I just…needed a bit of a rant…” He says with a sigh as he looks at the cigarette before throwing it aside and stamping on it.
“Believe me, I understand.” I say, my heart falling heavily in my chest as I remember why I understand. He looks up at me, his eyes studying me for a moment before he sighs.
“Fifteen minutes is up, Rachel will be going crazy in there.” He says, looking back at the door and I nod.
“Come on then, Sir Knight, escort me to the theatre.” I say, and he smiles.
“My lady princess Catharine it would be my pleasure.” He says and we both put a smile on our faces, trying to put it all behind us as we walk back out of our bubble of broken emotion and into the world.
*Luke’s POV*
“You’re kidding me!” I cry as I peer into the small fridge. “There’s no milk!” I moan.
