This lovely little human being is from the electro-pop band CHVRCHES!!!

I just love her to death!

✨✨✨✨

She was always stuck in the back of your head. Tucked away in your memories. Popping up when you thought of the past. Her smile made you smile, her hair made you rub your hand through yours, her laugh made you giggle along. You wished you could hear her laugh again, touch her hands one last time.

But she moved on; you did too. You got a job and never bothered with relationships again after dating Lauren for over two years. She had a job, a successful one that she always dreamed about. No doubt she probably doesn't think of you like you do everyday. Your heart was broken and so was hers but you knew it could never work out with Lauren. No matter how hard you tried.

"Why does it matter now? It's in the past..." you mumbled aloud to yourself as you sat on the couch, still thinking about Lauren. You had thought over many times about contacting your old love again, but you always shot yourself down at the last minute. Perhaps she's done the same and never found the courage to talk to you.

Ding!

Beside you, your phone lit up as a notification appeared on the screen. You got a message from an unknown number. Picking up the phone, you replied back, asking who it was that texted you.

' It's Lauren. An old friend gave me your number. '

You paused and held your breath as you read over the text message again. It was Lauren. She's wanting to talk to you. You guessed she had more hope in herself than you did.

' Can me talk? Meet me at the park. Our bench. '

With no reply you got out of your seat, grabbed a jacket and headed out the door. You had no idea why you left so soon, in hopes that you could actually see Lauren again. Or maybe because you were anxious and nervous, not thinking straight. Whatever it was, it made you walk faster towards the park, making it there just as you saw your old love sit down.

"Lauren!" You called as she looked at you. A giant smile appeared on her lips, making you grin back. "Nice to see you." You two exchanged a hug and sat down on the bench you would always sit on, looking at the sun set and the city glow in a blaze.

Lauren and you sat in silence until she spoke, "I miss you." You held your breath once again, feeling her place her head on your shoulder. Not speaking, you looked to the horizon ahead of you until she said something else. "Do you not miss me?"

"Of course I do," you breathed out as butterflies float around in your stomach and your heart leapt out of your chest. "I miss you everyday. I think about you everyday."

"I do too." She kept it short. She always did when she talked. Not going into explanation or depth. You liked that about her, making herself a mystery to even the ones she loved. "Why'd we ever stop? When did you stop loving me? When did I stop loving you?"

"I didn't. I still love you, Lauren."

"I love you too." She lifted her head from your shoulder and looked to you, her brown eyes soaking up your (e/c) hues. "Can we try again?"

"Of course." The butterflies secede in your gut and your heart slowed down. Lauren never belonged in the past.
