He was looking at you and knew he was. From across the room he stared you down all night. He didn't take his eyes off of you for one second, not even when you left the bar. He followed you down the sidewalk, watching the way you walked with your hands in you jacket pocket, the heels of your feet making contact with the ground before your toes.

"Excuse me," you said to the man as you stopped at the street corner, the little orange man on the over side blinking at you. "Are you following me?"

"Yes." His voice was soft, smooth. You knew he took care of himself by the way he dressed and the way he spoke. He was probably a singer of some sort. You couldn't turn around to look at him but you knew he was right behind you, staring at the back of your head. He was waiting for you turn look back at him so he could see your face.

"Did you follow me because you want to hurt me?" You asked, the little man no disappearing to show a purple hand flashing at you. "Or did you just want to talk to me?"

"I love your hair," he spoke to you, a shiver running across your body. "Your eyes, your lips, your smile. I love you, (Y/N)."

"Lin?" You turned around to meet the face of your ex-boyfriend. He had a smile on his lips that played around on your own face. There he was, in the flesh staring at you with his soft brown eyes. "I thought you left for New York a week ago."

"I couldn't, (Y/N)." You gave him a confused look as he took your hand in his. Lin was heading to the big city to pursue his dreams of Broadway but he seemed to have never left. "I couldn't leave you behind."

With all the strength in your body pulling you back from leaning into Lin's kiss you let it go and let all your worries wash away under his touch. He loved you more than his dreams.
