I am Emerson Skye. I live in Panem. More specifically, I live in District 7. I lived a normal life. I had a normal twin brother, Ethan, and three normal sisters, Emma, Delilah and Harper. I had 18 normal birthdays. I had a normal strict mother. I went to normal school, and lived in a normal shack. This was before.
Now, I am not normal.
When I woke up on the first day of After, everything was still. I yawned. It was Reaping day.
My mother was brushing Emma's hair. She turned to look at me. "Remember, Posture, posture, posture! Stand up straight, and walk in a line. Don't slouch! One foot after the other." She told me. I did just that. It pleased her.
"Good. Now, get ready."
"Yes mother"
"Good girl."
To the reaping, I wore a blue too-small dress and worn out slippers. For breakfast, we had one piece of toast, and 8 berries.
As we walked to the Justice Building, I made sure to have good posture and to walk straight. I wondered who would get reaped. I hoped it wasn't me.
Oh well. Murphy's law.
